There's nothing like having a mountain in your own backyard. I've received my fair share of exercise from hiking the various trails on Look Out Mountain while enjoying all the spectacular views and natural habitat. You can feel like you're in the middle of nowhere and still get a great city scape from certain peaks and valleys. |
The hike to the top is easy to moderate with the biggest challenge close to the peak. This is where it gets a bit rocky and may require you to demostrate your upper body strength. It's not far to the top so you will be enjoying the beautiful 360 degree view within 30 minutes. You can see the Phoenix city scape facing south, the McDowell Mountain range facing east, and if you look real hard to the west, you will see the Cardinals football stadium in Glendale. I Love The Look Out Mountain Preserve!!! |
