My Dad is probably the most fair and honest person I have ever known. . He was very successful as a home builder and developer, but made his fame and fortune in commercial construction. What I admired most about him as I was growing up, was how he always had this uncanny knack for figuring anything out, finding solutions that were fair, and always completing his work. At one point in time his organization was pretty big, but no matter how low a man was on the pecking order he always treated them his equal. He showed the ditch digger the same dignity as his banker, the trash contractor the same as his superintendents. No man was insignificant in his mind and actions. He taught us to look beyond color and religion. He taught us that the simple things in life are most important. He would rather be with his family visiting in his home than anything in the world.
But mostly what he instilled in his three sons was first and foremast a sense of love and faith in God, family, and fellowman And He taught it by his actions. That is why I Love him so much.
What a great tribute to a great man! Happy Father's Day, Trey. Sounds like you had a dad with his priorities in order. Thank you for sharing your tribute to him.
Trey, I like very much that your father treated all equally. While it sounds simple to do not enough in today's times act that way. They have a saying that you can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat someone that can do absolutely nothing for them. Finding solutions and seeing something through also was a great work ethic he had and of course the balance with God, family and fellow man. It's no wonder you turned out so well with that solid upbringing. Thanks for your Father's Day tribute.
Trey - He lead by example and that is the way it should be. Never ask somebody to do something you couldn't or wouldn't do yourself. Hope you had a good Father's Day.
Sounds like you're dad lived on the road with mine in Texas. Fine men with a heart of gold. Thanks for sharing. Keep the love alive always! They don't make many like that any more,,,
