Way back in February I posted about an inexpensive way to create wall art using scrapbook paper and foam board (Cool and REALLY inexpensive wall art ideas!!).

In April, I did a detailed consultation report for a young couple that needed guidance in getting their house ready to list.  At the end of the report, I added a copy of the wall art instructions.

Well, last week I got a call from the Realtor who asked me to come back to the house and see how awesome it looked - the couple had followed all of my advice - and the Realtor was quite confident that their house would sell quickly.

One of the first things I noticed when I walked into the house was the beautiful wall art they had put up over the mantle.  When I went closer to look at it... it was scrapbook paper!  Here are some photos:

I thought the home owners did a great job - and it's nice to see the idea in action.

That really turned out amazing! I love creative ways to dress up a place. I was just starting to watch this season of Design Star a few minutes ago and taking a break. Nice to see your post.

Looks good - I am sure the backing and bringing it off the wall makes it look great in person.

What an effective way to bring texture and interest to highlight the fireplace focal point -- they did a great job with your instructions!

This is such a clever idea. We just picked up some scrapbook paper that looks like time ceiling tiles.

Foam board is amazing...perhaps I'll post a photo of what I did with it.

Really great idea.  And fun when others follow the instructions and it turns out well.  Good job.

Hope the house sells and you get some referring business for your idea.  I was on a listing appt. yesterday and the sellers asked "what should they do above the mantle"?  I suggested a mirror, however, I am going to pass on your tip.  Thanks for sharing.

Great Idea. That's really cool. I don't have any artistic talent but love art.

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Monica,

I had your original post bookmarked but have never tried this great idea you brought to my attention. I'm so glad you brought this up again!!! It's so rewarding when your clients take action on the ideas you bring to their attention. Kudos to you.

I'm one of those who always has a project or 2 or 3 in the works but I hope to check this out soon.

Thanks!

Looks fabulous, that particular homeowner had a great eye to be able to put it together w/a designer touch.
