PRICELESS,
My son and his best friend have been best friends since high school. They have been walking hand in hand thru life. They both are in the U.S. Army and have been stationed at different places around the world and at times in the same place together. As a point my son married his first wife when he was stationed in Germany and his best friend, Jose, was in Germany at the same time at a different so guess who was Scott's best man? They were both in the first Gulf War at different bases and they were both stationed in Bagdad
at the same time at the same base and found out about it only after they got there. They have had their ups and downs throughout life but have always been there for each other.
I said all of that to set the stage. Today my son Scott found out the Jose's father had passed away. We knew that he was sick and that it was terminal. I guess, like everybody else, didn't believe that he would pass away. Jose is in Washington, DC stationed at the Pentagon and has left to go to the funeral down in Homestead, Fl. and has told Scott that he did not need to be there. Well what are BEST FRIENDS for if they are not going to be there for each other? Scott calls me and in his own way ask what he should do by telling me that he was going to Florida to be with his friend and offer his support. When you have a friend like that you KNOW you have a BEST FRIEND.
Scott
Jose
