Being a real estate agent can lead to a bit of an erratic life.
Take today as a for instance.
I started the day with my only specific plan was to watch our online church service this morning, feed and take care of our furry critters and try to get some yard care items taken care of. There's some grass that needs mowing and the flower garden...well the front beds are MOSTLY okay but the back yard beds are mostly a disaster. You can clear the weeds and they come back quickly if you don't get some mulch down, and while I've got two skids of bagged mulch, getting it from the pallets to the beds has not been going according to plan.
Why not?
Blame it on lead generation as the cause of three reasons our flower gardens are still a mess this evening.
Last night I had no appointments for today, but I'd emailed some buyer clients some possibilities yesterday evening.
This morning when I woke up there was an email from one of those buyers.
Reason 1: Those particular buyers came from an unusual source, an unexpected "open house" while I was in the front yard of a patio home with a chainsaw cleaning up a broken tree branch for our out of state sellers. While that particular patio home was not a perfect fit for the couple, they knew they wanted a patio home and I was the right agent to help them.
Reason 2: Another buyer couple reached out with 3 homes they wanted to see. 2 were easy to schedule, the 3rd was booked back to back to back to....and during the drive to see the first 2 we got word the 3rd was in multiple offers. The source of these buyers? A subdivision post about a local condo community led them to contact us a few weeks ago for a showing, and that showing led to us being hired to help them find a just right home.
Reason 3: On the way back home another buyer called about going to do a drive-by and check a new construction market home. The home wasn't too far from where we live, so I offered to meet him at the house and actually let him see the inside too. A quick stop at home to let the dogs out (there's the answer to the song...Me!) and I was on to the home. How did this buyer find us? A vacant land listing call.
The net of this? I left our home around 12:30, returned home to stay around 7 p.m. So the flower garden? It'll just have to wait for another day. It's a trade I'll make.
