August is Microchip Madness Month
which means veterinarians island-wide, in partnership with the Hawaiian Humane Society, are offering
low-cost microchipping of pets for just $10.
As some of you may already be aware that there is a new City & County of Honolulu ordinance that mandates the microchipping of pet cats and dogs.
Participating veterinary clinics are waiving the cost of their veterinary office visit for dogs and cats to offer microchips at a considerable discount as part of an effort to reduce the number of lost pets on Oʻahu as well as help the community affordably adhere to. Last year, more than 1,300 pets received microchips through this program.
