trail entrance

I love Fullerton!

It's my town and so many people are drawn here for the great family feel, outstanding education, fabulous downtown, history and so much more!trail sign

But I am surprised that so many people have know idea that we have the most beautiful and amazing series of trails that run all around the city!  Together they comprise the Fullerton Loop.loopJosh and Katie

I take my dog for a run on the Loop about three times a week.  There is not a better way for me to get some great exercise, to make my dog so happy and to clear my mind so my creative juices can flow.  My best ideas always seem to come when I am on the Loop.

For those who have heard of it, not many seem to know how to find it.  I am going to start a small series about the Fullerton Loop and today's installment is about how my outing was this morning and the entrance I used.

My son decided to come along today (this was a big surprise) but since I wanted to take some pictures, it was also a big help.  We entered at the Fullerton Sports Complex off of Bastanchury between Harbor and Brea.  If you go down to the bottom, you will see a small entrance to the trail between the soccer field and the baseball field.  This is just one of maybe a hundred ways to get in.

You will soon find yourself surrounded by brush and trees, almost like you are out in the middle of no cowboywhere.  It is so peaceful and beautiful.  Birds are signing and the smells make my dog Katie so excited!  It is so easy to forget that there is a bustling town all around you.  You will also see mountain bikers, bunnies, coyotes (early in the morning), snakes, horses and today, even a cowboy!

If you would like more information on the loop and how to get there, please let me know.  I am trying to get some good maps from my husband but he doesn't want it to get too crowded...Like it is our little secret!  But, I will share with my community.  It is too good not to!

T- pretty easy as far as bikes are concerned.  There are a few hills over in West Fullerton but nothing major.  Pretty easy but lately people are finding the loop so you have to watch out for the other bikers!

I love the loop riding a bike is the best way to do the full loop which is about 9 miles. There are some

technical hills but its pretty easy. Try the night hike on Tuesday at 600 pm  with a friendly group of walkers.
