sunHello and HAPPY FRIDAY!

As most of the rest of the US prepares for Daylight Savings Time this weekend, us Arizonans have nothing to worry about!

I've always wondered why Arizona doesn't adhere to Daylight Savings - and found the answer today on www.azcentral.com/

The simple answer?  The sun was out until later in the night during the summers - and when it's 100+ degrees outside, that makes it harder to do things like play baseball or go to a drive-in!

While this put-off some people - people who DIDN'T live in Arizona! - our state opted to remain on standard-time year around.

The highlight of this article is a quote, by A.C. Jones of Scottdale.  His letter was published in The Arizona Republic in 1969 - regarding how people back east felt about our succession from Daylight Savings Time:  "They probably don't enjoy enchiladas like we do either, so should we stop eating them?"   Living in Phoenix makes you appreciate that statement that much more!
