Of course the answer is "To Web".
But how? and why? and where do you start?
Well I decided to start with GoDaddy, and I thought that was okay.
Then I realized I needed IDX on the website, so I researched several companies for one that wouldn't break the bank.
Then I found out that GoDaddy isn't a Wordpress site which I guess is important in building a clean, professional looking website with optimal functions that will get you noticed on the Internet. So I went with Bluehost, they are one the best hosting sites and reasonably affordable. Plus they provide you with free Wordpress, so that's nice.
Guess what? That isn't enough because Wordpress is just the frame of the web builder and in order to create a decent layout you need a theme builder. I was advised by very knowledgeable source that Thrive Themes is a topnotch company that provides all the tools that make it so easy for you to design a website in minutes.
Well I suppose if you are experienced with web building that would be true, not in my case. They do make you aware in advance that there is a learning curve, which is an understatement for someone like me that doesn't do this everyday (Well I do now, everyday all day long). But hey, I'm definitely learning and getting a little better at it each day.
I'm not even going to get into their support system which consist of a chat room that is really an email that takes hours to get a response to questions that require follow up questions, and then that take even more hours to get a response. However, they do provide you with dozens of Youtube videos that are very informative for anyone that already knows how to use their product. I better start learning fast because their money back guarantee is only good for a month and I don't even know how to get the work I'vedone in Thrive to Wordpress so I can publish my site and see if it works.
Yes this may sound like I'm just being a whiner, but really I'm expressing my frustration during my learning curve. I can say this about my experience, I am definitely growing my knowledge in web building and that's a good thing. Also, what I've accomplished so far looks pretty good. The difference between my throw together GoDaddy website and Thrive/Wordpress is like night and day. When I get the hang of this (and I will) and finish my work, I will have website to be be proud of. And since I purchased the 5 websites license version of Thrive Architect, I can practice 4 more times.
If not anything else, no matter what else I get out of this, one thing is for sure, I can now spell ARCHITECT without thinking twice.
Thank you for putting up with my whining frustration learning curve experience.
Gotta get back to doing what ever it is I'm doing. I know in the end it will be FAB-U-LOUS because...
