Last evening Ron made his famous cheese melt in your mouth soufflée for dinner! We had asked the owners of Renegade Wines for their recommendation.
Pictured above is a Malbec wine they recommended. This is wine that comes from Patagonia. Patagonia is a sparsely populated region at the southern end of South America, shared by Argentina and Chile. The region comprises the southern section of the Andes Mountains, lakes, fjords, and glaciers in the west and deserts, tablelands and steppes to the east.Wikipedia. The grapes are grown in the Andes mountains.
We instantly fell in love with this wine. It is also reasonably priced at $20.50, in our area.
Notes: 90% Malbec & 10% Merlot. 10 months in second year French oak. Deep purple colour with aromas of spice, currants and a hint of violets. In the mouth this is full-bodied with big and ripe tannins, lots of blackberry and bitter cherry fruit and elegant acidity: supple despite its youth. Only 30,000 bottles and 10 magnums were produced.
Cheers, Ron & Alexandra
