My son is at Peterson and works on Schreiver...is that Southeast?

He does....he even took up fly fishing.....I never taught him that because fishing in Washington State means deep rivers and lots of trees....so you don't have much room for casting. Thanks

Thanks for the invite, I am hoping to get over there around September. He says I should come later for hunting season. But it's too bone chillin cold. I have some old High School friends from Montana that moved there, so I will need to find them.

Native of Colorado? Yes, I would say you qualify since living there for over 25 years....why did your parents move you their at such a young age?

Chuck:  September is a great time to come visit; weather is usually great with nice days and cool nights.   Plus, alot of the tourists go home so attractions aren't quite as crowded.

Yes, I'm almost a native of Colorado.  Everytime I think I'm going to leave, I just can't do it.  I live part way between Colorado Springs and Denver in the Foothills on a one acre wooded lot, complete with fox, deer, bear, coyote, and an occassional elk.   I feel blessed to live here.

You are blessed to live there! Wow, I moved here over 2 years ago from Whidbey Island....and  mis the Racoons, Coyotes, deer, and even the squarrels.

How about camping around that area. Can I pitch a tent or park the trailer in the woods, or do I have to be in a park that charges fees, have screaming kids running around at all hours of the night, and make me buy theri wood for a fire?

My son called last night...he is going up to see Pikes Peak today...a few nights ago he said he and his friend drove out to this clearing in the woods, laid on the back of his truck and stared at the stars for a few hours.

God, I miss being up in the mountains! I think I will have to go camping this weekend up at Mt. Baker....need to remember my snow shovel....

Chuck:  There are some great tent camping places in Colorado --  Here's a couple of web sites that may help out:

Colorado state park   http://parks.state.co.us/

National Forests in Colorado:  http://www.fs.fed.us/recreation/map

National Parks in Colorado: http://www.nps.gov/state/CO/

You can pitch a tent in a lot of places, but it's on an area by area basis.  These web sites should help you with the details.

If you need any other help planning your trip, let me know!
