Greg Swann mentioned creating a "virtual coffee table book" several months ago on Bloodhound Blog

I finally took a swing at making one myself....

It was created in MS Publisher, then PDF'ed.   Note:  the URLs do work in Acrobat Reader (I think 6 and above) but you need to move the cursor until it is a pointing finger, instead of a hand, then click ,,,,,

Not bad, I figure, for a first attempt.

Cheryl, all the photos are sideways. Should I be doing something different?

Missy,  I created it as landscape layout, to look arty  ... maybe you have Reader set to always do portrait ? .... but that is a good point .... any user might have something set for portait only ... so the next ones I make, I think I'll do them as portrait.......

Donna:  Yeah, PowerPoint would work.  It could be done in Word, or any other word processer, too.   So you end up with a nice little marketing piece without too much difficulty.

Hi, Cheryl.

We do virtual coffee table books for our web sites, but we almost always produce them as real books, too. We use Apple's iPhoto to print the books, but I would expect there are Windows solutions out there, too. Usually three books: One for the house, one for the seller, one for the buyer. The one we will have left in the house we keep as a marketing tool.

Cheryl, I am at home and this computer doesn't want to play nice tonight, I can't open the book BUT will try again at the office.  Thanks for the BLOODHOUND link, I had not run across them yet and man what a good read, blew my 30 min quick.  I am so thrilled that we found you, if I do nothing else on AR reading you has been worth my time thus far.  be good  cw

Love your virtual book - this is new to me. Other than to do as Greg suggests - printing the book - how will you use this tool?

Debbie:  I'll put the link to the book in blogs (Kinda like I did here) and websites.  I could even upload it as a "document" to the MLS, hmmmm.....

If someone asks for information on a listing to be emailed, send the link along wiith other information.

So now, I'm thinking about other stuff to put in the "book" to make it a complete source of information about a property.

Cheryl - Great ideas! I love making the book a "complete" package of information, especially to email to a prospective buyer.

Cheryl,
wow...great idea.  I've got to give this a shot.  does anyone know how much the printed book costs as greg mentioned?  I tried to go to the apple site, i clicked on "more info and pricing" but seemed to only get more info.  very impressive though

I don't know about iPhoto, but I do know Shutterfly has a similar product: http://www.shutterfly.com/shop/product_c18000/Photo_Books

Also, several home stagers here on Active Rain have written about using a Shutterfly book to promote their staging businesses:
