If you
haven’t
tried these or it’s been a while - here’s
a “Little” something for your toolbox:
Along
with a home book, brochures, flyers and postcards – how
about adding a Property Biz Card
to
your presentation and marketing magic?
Help brand your listing:
Use a design or color scheme
that
coordinates with flyers and other advertising material unique to that
property.
The BONUS - it provides exposure for you too!
Cards may not land
in the shredder pile as quickly as a flyer,
they're easier than toting brochures
the
size is suited for a wallet or purse
keeping
them handy is a breeze
Display in a biz card
holder at
the property and
distribute
in place of or in addition to your standard business cards in your
everyday ventures. Do
give a few to your sellers to pass out - there’s
some potential for cards to hang around long after the SOLD sign is
gone.
You can include property:
highlights, address, mls#, photo,
your biz info or any information you choose to specifically promote
that property. Sample below:
Go Ahead -Get Creative!
Packages of blank business card sheets can be purchased at
most office supply stores, they come single or double sided and you can
print
as few or many as you like.
Great idea Teresa.Do you place cards from other listings at each of your properties?
We started printing all our listings on the back of the feature sheet that was left at the home and had good crossover from people who came to openhouses and realtor showings. Its a little more work, but every bit helps :-)
Hi Teresa, Wonderful idea, I had some a long time ago, thanks for reminding me, I'll head to the office supply tomorrow. By the way, how did you get the great signature?
Thanks Doris! Everyone once in a while I remember something good to share:) Cheers!
Hi Linda, I've had that same reaction as also - so fun when a little thing can make a lasting impression. Thanks for stopping by and sharing too!
Ginger thanks for the compliment and on the ribbon I picked it up@ Sarah Cooper's if you want to check it out. Who knows maybe next time I see you, you'll be in pink too? :)
Sure Earleene, and I've learned so much here at AR myself so it's nice to have something to share once in a while :)
Jack - thanks and for taking time to comment too. Cheers!
Hi Patti glad to share and nice to see you all the way from Georgia!
Marie you're very welcome. have a great NY week!
Steven - if it brings a buyer sooner - what's a little more work right :) Love the idea and thanks for sharing. Cheers!
Jacqueline,gf thanks for stopping by! Create a signature free @ http://www.mylivesignature.com you'll have fun on their site and I can't wait to see your new signature if you do get by there (very easy to do) Cheers! ALL
Michelle, YES great thought! They're a perfect size to post on bulletin boards etc and the heavier weight paper of cards is a bit richer so I think it's a nice trade off for the size difference of a flyer. - thanks for the share! Cheers!
Gosh I am a newbie to AR and am just amazed at all the great ideas and education I am recieving from everyon. I love the biz card idea and I went and got me my very own signature. Thank you so much for sharing.
I love this idea but haven't done if for a few years. Kinda forgot about it. Your card looks wonderful and it is a great way for the seller to hand out his listing as well. Hey I saw a link to Eclipse on the left side... I will check it out. I just finished the trilogy and I am reading Host. Chat with you soon! Leslie
My guess is the pink bow is for breast cancer. We have a local road race annually in Chattanooga for cancer research and the race sponsors spend a good amount of time honoring survivors and remembering those who did not survive.
Several friends are survivors, in fact it is surprising to find out how many persons there are who have had cancer.
Thanks for finally pointing me to the signature tool. They do look neat in blogs. and I will be glad to have a legible signature.
As far as the property business card idea, WOW!
How do you pass them out? How specifically do you market with them?
Marie- Awesome you go girl! and if you're llike me you might want to check out or check into the Active Rain Addicts group(grin) Love it here!
Leslie!YAY! a great time to bring the ideas out of the old treasure chest and perfect for your current listings too!
Chuck- Great! and your sense of humor comes through on your comments - JOY to read!
Richard your guess is right on target - pink bow is for breast cancer.
Like Chattanooga and other areas, the Pacific Northwest hosts similar events - in fact, the Puget Sound Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is hosting a race for the cure event tomorrow in Seattle June 21st.
So many lives have been affected and it will be a Glorious Day when all are survivors!
The property business cards - can be displayed at your listings or your sellers may enjoy having some to pass out. You can use them as you would your standard biz card too if your biz and contact info is on them. A few other ideas posted in comments: using them on local bulletin boards (where advertising is allowed i.e. grocery stores)
Hi Vincent - you know I will certainly keep sharing!
Glad to share Melissa and thanks for the add! :)
Kinberly - people do love sweet little marketing treats like this (myself included) They help make our roles much more fun, and so glad you stopped in!
Thank you Bob and you have a great day too! thanks for saying hello!
When my partner and I did this we used www.vistaprint.com - they offer free business cards ALL the time and it was VERY worth the shipping cost!!! Just sign up to get their marketing emails and you can make out like a bandit!!!
I liked the idea Simple and effective and I think I have a house to use it for. I have been researching new and old ideas and this is a winner. You signature is wonderful and makes me want to develop a unique one for myself.
Teresa~ I did this for my listing about 6 weeks ago and printed 1000 of them in color on both sideswith shipping it was about $25.00 you can't buy the blank cards and print them yourself at that price! When I am marketing I leave those cards and that way I am marketing myself and that specific listing at the same time!
Theresa, Love this idea. I have a new listing where the seller works at a casino in Atlantic City. I gave him flyers to hand out, but the business card would be so convenient for everyone. I will definitely do this. Thanks for passing on this idea and also including a sample.
Tara - ..."The Art of Marketing You" ROCKS! I consider it a very high end place to hang out! I'm so glad you found me and I look forward to seeing you around the Rain!
Cy - thanks for stopping by and let me know if you get a good response with them. I'll be sending good thoughts your way!
Hello Diana - Last year my clients in WA also had a listing in another state - they were very impressed when they came up to their Seattle place since the out of state Listing didn't have anything like it -(good things in small packages) - I hope they're a hit for you too! I think you could start a new trend if you haven't seen them around you yet! YAY! Abundance and Cheer!
Vickie - Fantastic thought/comment! Everyone should check it out.... and that is why you are ACTIVE Vickie! (smile) I love the signature btw and seriously that price can't be beat plus the time saved through having them printed!
Thanks for sharing your Active Wisdom! Cheers and abundance to YOU Vickie!
Patty & Scott- I'm not sure where I heard or saw the idea first and while I used them before I learned about this great place called Active Rain...I'm NOT surprised that someone here has posted about it from yours and others comments who've used the idea before....check out
Tarawho's ordered FREE from Vistaprint and Vickie had a great bit of wisdom because she ordered "double sided" from a printer - both of these represent a cost and time savings from a do-it-yourself version YAY! Abundance and Cheer to YOU!
Sandy - Hey you must have come in while I was posting a response but don't think for a moment that I forgot or missed you! Thanks for stopping by and I'd love to hear how they work for you if you try it out! See you in the rain!
I've had the same experience with them Christine, and I imagine you get equal AWE and feedback from your fabulous family photo. Beautifully unwritten! No caption required!
Hi Teresa, we used to do something similar to this and have gotten away from it. Thanks for the reminder. Like you, we would put all the info about the home on one side, along with an image or two. Then info about us (URL, contact info etc) on the other side. We would give our sellers a batch of them to leave where ever they thought someone might be interested (at their church, soccer games, etc.) They were always very well received, easy to do and very different.
Another great use for the listings business cards it to give them to the seller to hand out. I put an image of the house and add, "My house is for sale. If you or anyone you know is interested please call by Realtor at" with your info.
It gets the sellers involved in marketing their own house and shows them that you have a variety of marketing techniques.
I love these Teresa... great idea.. going to print some now for my sellers!! Love your profile too... so much to learn here! See you on Facebook too, will send an invite.
You would think in a slow market, we would have time to build our idea bank.. Well, I have the time but not the ideas. When the business is hopping I have ideas flowing out my ears and I get soooo much more completed (my house even gets cleaned.) Now it is slow, all I do is eat and my house is dirty... hahhaha
I use this marketing strategy all the time. If you don't want to make it yourself, go online to expressdocs.com where you can design both front & back. Cost is only $35 for 250 cards.
I walk shopping centers/business, etc. near the property and put them on cars. I mail them to homeownere in the neighborhood asking if they have a buyer for this home.
Get creative, this is very inexpensive marketing and sellers love it.
Sharon You're absolutely right - easy! and easy is a very good thing!
Pamela, A wonderful tried and true for you in the Carolina's and agree something sellers can enjoy passing along -
With their home being listed it's likely at the forefront of their mind and topic of daily conversations - and these provide them a way to share their news without being cumbersome to keep at the ready - and practical for a recipient to hang on to. Win! Win! Thanks Pamela!
Cindy - GREAT ADD especially for seller handout cards: "My house is for sale. If you or anyone you know is interested please call...." Thanks YOU for the great contribution
Debbie from Tallahassee - Awesome! I'll look forward to the invite - Facebook it is!btw - I love the word "Tallahassee" off subject but it just has such a fun flair to it!
Teresa in Tennessee - hey - now that's a familiar name! :) your observation is true in my world too - seems the busier I am, the more I get accomplished. OK....no soup for us until we get busy cleaning house!... NAH :)
Elaine - whatgreat uses you've come up with for these! thanks for sharing!!!
Brilliant - I don't know who posted the "BRILLIANT!" compliment? but I'm not letting that one slip away- in fact I'm getting ready to frame it right now! :) Thanks!
I just started doing these in the last couple of months and my clients love them, too. Another Agent in our office found the idea here on AR and shared it with us. I notice at Open Houses the people will take the cards before they take the flyer.
Pat - Sure and I'm glad you came by to check it out, nice to see you on AR and have a great day!
Mark - agreed! It's nice to have something out of the ordinary - btw stopped by your AR blog and am planning to go back to see that beautiful home again! Nice! Cheers!
Kathy- I hear you! so the GREAT suggestions in comments should help-i.e. order out and/or have printed: one place vistaprint.com (free) plus shipping cost - a time saver and cost effective :)
Karen - thanks for saying hello and I love the signature too -FREE if you want one go to mylivesignature.com - lots of fun. Cheers!
Hi Ed - Awesome that they're already in your toolbox!
I agree most people choose to keep a card - I would - BUT I still want to see the larger images and more info on the flyer, right before I put the card in my purse :)
Heather - thanks! cards are so much more travel friendly for everyone :) - what are the temps in AZ these days? we're just now getting some sun here :) YAY!
This is an amazing idea that I never thought of. Amazing too because my mind never sleeps. Apparently it did for a few minutes in this case. I think I will subscribe to your blog too in case I fall asleep again! LOL
Hi Muldowney's - I think you'll get some good response and I like the family team you have going on there in NJ! Cheers!
Lizette - I think this is one of those "where are my keys? (OH! right there in my hand!) kind of things. my mind doesn't get a lot of rest either but I just thought it was the coffee around here :) I added you too so if either of us starts nodding off we can give each other a nudge (smile) have a great week-end Lizette!
That was a great tip to share. I had seen this idea before, but never got around to actually doing it. In this market, I can see this would really impress and wow a seller.
We always create these little reminders of the property, because they seem to be a perfect way to differentiate our listings from others and have such a long shelf life after the sale.
These are really cool looking and great ideas! These can be great substitute for your business cards as well, it show cases your past listings. Thanks for the tip!
Earlene thanks for coming by all the way from Kentucky and for your comments!
Cindy - I agree on them being a good substitute for standard biz cards - marketing and selling properties is what it's all about so what better way? thanks for commenting!
Chuck - thank you so much and if I knew how to flag I'd have already flagged a few of yours to be sure. any tips you care to share on how to flag? When I've seen flags referred to on other sites it's usually associated with a negative so I guess it's time to get with the program here at AR huh?
I have done the low tech verison of creating labels to put on the back of my business cards & have given them to clients to pass out too - you are right they love it!
Great idea and thanks for sharing. It's always good to be creative and go the extra mile for your clients. By the way, I once heard this quote "There's no traffic jam on the extra mile"...you must be out there cruising along.
I like the idea of giving them to my seller to hand out. They are always asking what more they can do. It is a way of expanding and taking advantage of their network of friends and co-workers. I would imagine that a seller would be more likely to hand out a card with a picture of their home on it than my business card. Awesome idea!
Melissa - I love the quote! Now we just needs one that makes the gas prices seem a little a bit easier to swallow while we're cruising (smile) love sharing!
Toni - I did print myself though a better quality than the sample pasted but I like the idea earlier in a comment to have them printed (especially if they can be ordered at a reduced cost as suggested @ vista print) may be worth checking out. A lot of expanded ideas presented in the great comments on this post.
Troy- I hope this brings some new curious and ready buyers your way!
