Butterflies and Berries

Yesterday the temps were close to normal for our area after several days of much colder then normal temperatures. It made taking a walk a pleasure. In North Dakota you need to take advantage of such days as we never know when SNOW might enter the forecast.

This garden just in front of the Roosevelt Park Zoo enterence was teaming with butterflies. Of course when I get the camera out they all go into hiding but I did catch one that wasn't shy.

I also enjoyed seeing this scrony little bush with beautiful peal like berries on it.

pearly berriesI enjoy looking for photo opportunities like these. I hope you don't mind.

Agreed Patricia Kennedy . I saw a Monarch yesterday and I was wondering if it would make it or not. Maybe they get up in the jetstreem and make the trip in a day or two .

You are right Barbara Todaro , those blizzards could strike any day. If I remember correctly July is the only month where snow has not been recorded in North Dakota. That being said I doubt we have had a blizzrd in June or August but we have had snow in those months.

I am doing my best to take advantage of it Sheri Sperry - MCNE® . The only thing keeping me in this climate is relationships but that may not be enough after one more winter.

I like the way you phrase that Myrl Jeffcoat . Those berries look just like pearls. I did not touch them to feel their texture maybe next time I walk by I will. Perhaps Roy Kelley can tell us what that plant is.

Dorie Dillard CRS GRI ABR , to be honest I don't even want to peek around the corner but mother nature did reveal herself to South Dakota last week with a large amount of snow.

What lovely pictures, Bob! It remains very warm here in Charlotte, but I am seeing first signs of falls in the tree leaves.

Hello Bob! Very nice pictures - thank you for sharing! We are still really, really hot here in the Houston area. Still in the 90's and humid. Things get better in October when our highs drop into the 80's. Have a great day!

James Dray it is on the very top line of the flowers with the pond behind it. Actually I think I can see two. Maybe I should circle them and then if anyone sees another we can add that as well.

Hey Nina Hollander ! We had a cold snap that brought us close to the frost point but now things have heated back up. Today's high is in the mid 80's.

Roy Kelley I was hoping you could identify the plant (or maybe it's a weed) with the white berries for us.

I am hoping for a mild winter Ron and Alexandra Seigel so that I can continue the walks year around. In a typical wND winter I give up close to Christmas time as the snow gets two deep for an enjoyable/safe walk.

Thanks Rose King . We have had several mornings in the low 30's but have not dipped below freezing yet. That being said we have now bounced back up into the 70's and 80's. I know this won't last long but I'm loving it while it lasts.

Wishing you a great weekend as well Roy Kelley . It looks like my weekend is going to consist of one day because several job opportunities have arisen in the last minute today.
