Here it is Monday night, June 16, 2008 and I have to tell you I didn't make it back to Phoenix to work today. It was such a nice surprise! You see, a year and a half ago my family purchased a home in Payson, Arizona...a beautiful mountain town where the summer days are in the 90's and the nights can be in the 60-70's. Wow, this is heaven compared to 112 degrees today in Phoenix.
Our weekend consisted of spoiling my husband for his Father's Day....sometimes men just need that. My two children are into golfing, of course this is such a cool idea for dad. Although they only get to play on the driving range, they are only 7 and 3...but they are working there way up to the course, it just takes time. Then we went for a picnic up to the Tonto Forest, Rainbow Bridge, and incredible site, not man made but a natural rock formation of a bridge with a waterfall. Beautiful site! My husband's father joined us and he loves to hike so 3 generations hiked a mile down and back. I wanted to take my 3 year old but I know she would be asking, "Momma carry me!" That's just to long and at 40 pounds she would have killed me! And to top our day off, a family bbq at my father-in-law's house...what a wonderful day we had with 3 generations.
Time away from reality is priceless! There was nothing calling us back to Phoenix, so we took time away from our schedule to enjoy family time and relax. I kinda feel quilty and yet I really don't.
