Charles Stewart Howard was born in Marietta, Georgia back in 1877. I do not have any information as to his childhood schooling, etc. What I can tell you is that he is dubbed as on the most successful Buick salesman of all time. When the earthquake of 1906 happened, he was one of the few individuals who had operational vehicles in the city, he used them to help with the rescue efforts making him a celebrity.
With his fortune, he purchased a 16,000-acre tract of land in Ridgewood Ranch in Mendocino County. He died in 1950 from a heart attack he was 73.
What you may not know about Charles is that he was also into horse racing. He became a prominent thoroughbred racehorse owner. While most of you may not recognize his name you surely should know the most famous horse he owned “Seabiscuit”? The other two famous ones were Kayak and Noor. Noor is in the Hall of Fame.
