I woke up this morning thinking I was in Rome, Italy. Ron and I were walking on the Via Condotti and marveling at the beautiful stores and their displays.
As we zig and zagged through the crowds and various streets, we ended up at the Piazza di Popolo, pictured above. Just like Paris, Rome has an obelisk that was brought in 10BC by Emperor Augustus.
Piazza del Popolo is a large urban square in Rome. The name in modern Italian literally means "People's Square", but historically it derives from the poplars after which the church of Santa Maria del Popolo, in the northeast corner of the piazza, takes its name.Wikipedia
