Being the nerd I am....one time I was walking downtown by the courthouse and I said excuse me to someone on the side of me. It was a family of statues in a walking position ...lol! I love these kinds of exhibits!

Joan,

I remember the post you did...beautiful sculptures. The story about the boy and the turtle is a perplexing one. Imagine the city telling the artist that he would have to insure his own work if he leaves it in their park. I hope the money is raised to keep the existing sculpture in place and return the other one. I just wonder who will be insuring them? The city? Or the fundraisers?

Okay -- this looks like something that would be fun.  Perhaps we can get to 4 of us together -- take a look at the exhibit and then have something to eat.

It is perplexing to me too Jo...He has other pieces there too that may be removed. I have a feeling that people will bail things out though!

Now that's a great idea Joan! We'll have to plan it for when your husband gets back!

Joan, it seem like the municipality was being rather ham-handed by telling the artist he would have to pay for insurance if he wanted to leave his popular turtle sculptures in the park.  I don't really blame him for threatening to take his ball and go home...

Brian..reading between the lines (and some of the other articles that have been written)..I think somehow things got out of hand and there is also some posturing going on. I can't  help but think someone will buy it and donate it to the Park!
