I keep hearing how alternative energy is a long way off. However, I've started seeing commercials for Honda's hydrogen car. Also, I have friends in Germany who have changed their cars over to propane. We also have several hybrid cars on the market right now. With oil choking our wallets, we don't have time to wait. I love that I'm seeing these options coming online.

Also, did you hear that McCain is now for drilling offshore? Bush is supposed to ask congress to lift the ban on offshore drilling. I'm all for it. I hope that we can once again start using our resources instead of sending so much of our money to people who would rather us not be around.

We still don't have stations to fill the cars and the exact history of this product.  But I am for it if it works.

I've been on the Hydrogen bandwagon for more than a decade already.  Let's get on it.  John is right we need to make the necessary infrastructure investments to make alternatives more viable.

Electric cars by old fashioned means and/or fuel cell technology would be a nice start.

I would have rather this stimus package checks that were sent out went to creating and getting the technology out there to the consumer.     Lets think about this for a minute.   How much is $300 really going to help?  With the price difference in gas in the last  2 months.   My check is already gone.   I fill up once a week 18 gallons at $4.00 a gallon 16 dollar difference from 2 months ago.    That 18 weeks of fill ups.   What about the other 34 week of the yr I have to fill up.

I am Repubican, how every this election I am firing all of my elected officials and putting some fresh blood into the government.   Then mabey they will lissen.    The current elected official need a pay cut for not doing their jobs!

We also need to make sure that all of these GREEN TECNOLOGIES are produced in the UNITED STATES.

Believe it or not this is a consumer driven economy, the economy is going to faulter if something isn't done ASAP!!!

I'll get off my soap box!!!

There is criminal greed in the marketplace right now and Congress and everyone know it.  The same as with the subprime loans.  Everyone one knew the top would eventually blow off that kettle.

The government is turning a blind eye as lo9ng as they get their tax dollars.  We are being exploited as the oil companies have wanted to raise the US price of gas to the same standard as in Europe ($18/gal).

Lets put this in perspective.  When Bush took office in 2001 gas was selling regularly at $1.26 a gallon.  In 2003 I purchased a new Honda and it cost me $13.76 to fill the tank from empty, considering the reserve in the tank one the needle hits empty and the light come on.

It has taken a shorter period of time for gas to go from $1.26 to $4.53 than it too gas to go from $0.26 to $1.26.  In 1972 gas sold for $0.26 a gallon in the Metro Los Angeles/Long Beach area.

We're suckers and will gripe amongst ourselves and tolerate the market being manipulated to our disfavor. We as a culture do not have the same revolution spirit as our founding fathers.

They would not have tolerated being treated as we are.  Gasoline would be in some harbor somewhere and revolutionary movement would be underway. We have forgotten the premise that founded this country.  We have come to expect and accept oppression.  We are not doning what is required to make this a more perfect union.

Our government has made gasoline our oppressor!!!

Give me the gas, you keep the money!
