Come and experience international theatre, classical, jazz and popular music, interactive activities for children, visual arts, poetry, street theatre, tours of historic spaces, dance, literature, conferences and discussions June 14-28 on the New Haven Green.
Every year in June, New Haven hosts The International Festival of Arts and Ideas festival-stunning music and dance, brilliant theater, bright and emergent thinkers gathered from around the world. As the Festival unfolds, the city shares the finery of its venues which include world-class theaters, courtyards, museums, galleries, and richly diverse neighborhoods with guests from near and far. The Festival showcases hundreds of international events each summer, from over 20 countries, with an impressive scale and scope unmatched in the Northeast.

- Saturday, June 14
- Gospel and soul singer Mavis Staples. Begins at 8:00pm
- Sunday, June 15
- The 30-piece Balinese wood and metal percussion orchestra Gamelan Galak Tika and Ensemble Robot, a remote-controlled music-making-machine act from M.I.T. in Cambridge, Mass. Begins at 7:00pm
- Saturday, June 21
- East Village Opera Company, made up of two classically trained singers, a string quartet, electric bass, guitars, keyboards and drums, will interpret opera selections as rock anthems. Begins at 8:00pm
- Sunday, June 22
- The Latin double-bill of Grupo Fantasma and the alt-folklorico band Pistolera. Begins at 7:00pm
- Friday, June 27
- New Haven native Ben Allison with his new jazz ensemble, Man Size Safe. Begins at 7:00pm

- "Poets & Prophets," a new collaboration of original songs and instrumentals by Rosanne Cash and Mark O'Connor, inspired by the music of Johnny Cash. Shubert Performing Arts Center, Begins at 8:00
