Gelato & More Delivered to Your Door
From GelatoLove in Carlsbad
GelatoLove was original founded as Gaia Gelato, in early 2015, at the Village Faire in Carlsbad Village, at 300 Carlsbad Village Drive just past the railroad tracks.
I discovered them soon after they opened and have been a loyal fan since, given the wide range of flavors available in several sizes – the pints are great for taking home!! It always makes me think of Italy and the gelato I’ve enjoyed there on multiple occasions. My fave is the Chocolate Sorbet - it's intense!!
Business has been pretty good and they have expanded their offerings to include other desserts. There have been a number of classes to learn how to make gelato (before Covid-19 of course) at the lab and tasting room they opened at 5661 Palmer Way close to Bressi Village, and GelatoLove has been active in a number of community events over the years.
When the pandemic hit GelatoLove closed, like all retailers and eateries. But then restaurants could offer start offering take-out, and GelatoLove started home deliveries.
And home deliveries are now a full-fledged part of their business.
I was behind their delivery truck yesterday on the Coast Road, at the light at Tamarack beach, when I was out enjoying a coastal drive. I have yet to try their deliveries but certainly will.
Here’s the scoop, so to speak: order your GelatoLove pints before 3 pm, and if you are in San Diego North County you’ll get your gelato delivered in a freezer-proof bag at your door the next day, while other areas of San Diego and Orange County will get theirs within 3 days.
Order your dessert online, spend $30 or more (that’s EASY to do), and your delivery will be free.
There are lots of gelato flavors for delivery, plus other deserts, too – mousse and other cakes, a cannoli kit, panna cotta and tiramisu, and more.
