It is hard to find Genuine folks these days........

This past week one of my Escrow Officers had "Prior Knowledge" that the Buyer was MARRIED and asked for the Wife to sign a Disclaimer deed....she was asked by the Realtor to "LOOK THE OTHER WAY" however, she stood firm and did the right thing. It seems that there are those that believe we should be grateful for "any transaction" to come along.  BELIVE me we are however, we will NOT loose our INTEGRITY over one little "document".

Along with the Changes in the Wind here at LandAmerica we have what we like to call our Guiding Principles below you will find the top 2: drum roll please.....

The success of LandAmerica continues to be fueled by our commitment to our Guiding Principles which include:

PERSONAL VALUES

  • Integrity - The personal integrity of each employee and agent representing us speaks to the integrity of our entire organization.
  • Respect for the Individual - We respect the dignity of each individual, whether a fellow employee, customer, agent, shareholder, or member of the general public.

DRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE

  • Customer Satisfaction - Customers are the fundamental driving force behind what we do.
  • Continuous Improvement - There is no permanent best practice. There are always better practices. Excellence demands that we continue to find them.
  • Pursuit of Ideas - We want ideas at all levels. Brainstorming fuels organizational energy, and high organizational energy leads to significant competitive advantages, faster delivery times, improved scope of service, lower costs, and the ability to continuously transform.

We continue to offer Superior Satisfaction Guaranteed on all residential real estate transactions. If your client is NOT satisfied they will receive a refund of their Escrow fee.

TRY US you will LOVE it!

Have a GREAT

Shelli, It's not about just making the sale and closing the transaction.  It's about integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.  Give your escrow officer a "Starbucks" for doing the right thing.

That is too bad that your escrow officer was even put in this situation!  I'm glad she did the right thing so we don't need to hear about her on the news getting arrested for fraud!

I truly try to only work with Escrow Officers who show continuous Integrity.  Having business associates that are not only good at their job but also show integrity can only improve your customers overall satisfaction.  It will lead to continuous referrals for everyone. Kudos to your escrow officer.

Once you lose your integrity, what else do you have? Good for them.

Shelli - Integrity goes so far with me, Values and Character just the same. B-O-O-Y-A-H ... for your title gal that stepped up and did the right thing! Shame on that agent for asking such a question. Not all agents work with that lack of integrity!!

Morning Shelli,

Good for your Escrow Officer, she would be my pick! It is reassuring to know that Professionals out there view their role in the workplace to be more then producing a pay check. I wouldn't live my life any other way and expect those I associate with to act accordingly.

Shelli - thanks for posting. No deal is good enough compromise integrity.

In another life I was responsible for writing, reviewing and selecting the winning vendors for various contracts. Many often tried to get me to compromise my personal standards. At least 3 account managers who continued to try to entice me to violate both mine and my companies code ended up having to explain why their companies were no longer allowed to participate in bids for our Fortune 10 company.

Shelli - Agreed.  I have taken the same stance in my business and I feel that integrity will always pay off in the long run.

Thank you all so much for recognizing the important fact that integrity is who you really are when NO ONE is watching!!! Leolinda, as for the STAR BUCKS, she got something even better a GOLD STAR from our county Manager he has only handed out 8 in the 17 years he has been with LandAmerica so that is huge! Here is to those HONEST agents on both sides of the transactions that allow us in title to remain the neutral party! :-)
