Be very glad that you live in the USA where people have freedom of speech and the ability to express themselves on a blog. Elsewhere around the world bloggers are being arrested for abusing this priviledge. Read the article at:

Its sounds like if you express yourself in a blog you are instantly publishing it on the world wide web for thousands if not millions of eyes to see and read, so take responsibility because you may be opening possibilities of liability.

Yes, I am glad I live here, but our  "freedom of speech" is seriously threatened too.

There are law suits all over the USagainst bloggers and it looks like even if you tell the truth you can get sued.

Interesting....thanks for sharing that.  I am ALWAYS grateful that I live in the United States but it's always nice to be reminded why!

Boy I had no idea that you could get sued from the content of your blog - I thought the worse that could happen is that you would be asked to leave... But compared to other countries I guess I would opt for being sued - Thanks for the eye opener

Stephen, I had heard about the AP people trying to suppress free speach on blogs the other day, but it sounds like they were a bit supprised by the backlash they received from the community and are now under "negotiations" with targeted bloggers.

Is it far to easy to take for granted the freedoms our great country provides us. Stories like this are a sobering reminder.

Stephen, We take for granted our rights to free speech, and all too often we tend to forget the price.  Freedome isn't free.  Good post.

We are so fortunate that we do have freedom of speech.  People need to realize that with the power of the Internet everything that they write is out there for interpretation.  In Real Estate our reputation is everything and we need to make sure that we are precise and clear in what we blog about.  Without Clarityin what we write we may find ourselves back peddling over a comment that could be misinterpreted. I think we often take the freedoms we have in this country for granted.  It only takes a little bit of travel to certain places abroad, to realize how grateful we should be.

My son retired from the Navy after 20 years last year. . .He has always said, "There is no place like home."
