Do you know Vlad Z? ... Vlad Zablotskyy

Real Estate Agent with HER Realtors

Do you know Vlad Z?

Do you know Vlad Z from his other blogs...

Do you know Vlad Z from BloodHound Blog?

Do you know Vlad Z from Broker Science?

Do you know Vlad Z from Sellsius Real Estate Blog?

Do you know him (I'm sick of saying ....) from ActiveRain?

You don't even have to leave ActiveRain to get the story

AcitveRain has 92,934 members, Vlad Z is one of them.  Vlad's not an active ActiveRain member but Vlad is an ActiveRain member....  I don't really know Vlad Z.  I blogged about Vlad once but was careful not to mention his name or link to his website... (totally unrelated but I am making up for it here...)  a few weeks ago Vlad told me that at least 5 ActiveRain members had blogged about him.... and this problem with

I could find more than five ActiveRain members who have posted about Vlad Z. and his problem with ePerks:

Can you get sued for blogging? by Lanre Folayan

and Cheryl Johnson posted about Vlad Z again... Vlad Zablotskyy V. ePerks The Cliffs Notes Version thanks Cheryl for doing that for those of us who had trouble following the sequence.... and need Cliff Notes...

more about it...

On a related note... a post about Russell Shaw's support for Vlad...    Russell Shaw has got some Cajones - GO RUSSELL!!   cajon is box... cojones is slang for..  well ...having "cojones" means that he's tough in a manly sorta way.... The AR post about Russell Shaw is from Christina Ethridge

The bad guy's company (or can we assume that Ben B. is the bad guy???... and that ePerks is not a wonderful company from the perspective of all these posts plus those out in the real estate blogosphere) ... get's the headline... on this ActiveRain post,  Nominee for PR Blunder of the Year - ePerks by Aaron Hofmann.  We can safely say not a popular company with many in the real estate industry now.

Cheryl, Teri and others are collecting money for Vlad's defense fund. Links in many of their posts.

Have you formed an opinion about this from what you have read about it? I've learned a lot...

Thanks for this post.  I was aware of Vlad and this lawsuit but the links you provided here gave me the opportunity to read in greater detail what is going on.  I especially liked Aaron Hofmann's article Nominee for PR Blunder of the Year.  What is interesting to me is that blogging community is helping Vlad and supporting his position. ePerks will have a difficult time even if they persue this law suit coming out whole in the end.  Their reputation is gone.  Anyone who searches them out will be able to read the reports and make their own decisions about what happened, fair and balanced report the news posts, that will make everyone question doing business with them.  Not too smart.

@Maureen ... It's also interesting to note that some people have written about poor experiences with ePerks without being aware of the Vlad situation.  Here's an example:

Thanks Miriam it's not a popular company with real estate people, now.

I was not familiar with the company, could not remember gettng spam from them or being aware of the "shilling"  on the internet... I had a hard time following this but between Teri getting my attention, Cheryl's Cliff Notes and this outside AR link on Broker Science I think I understand what happened.

Thanks Cheryl... it seems the company is / was just a scam.

On Teri's blog and some others... there are comments about robots text that confuse me.  I believe the comments are from a Michael at Interior Living?  Is he saying that the  ePerks presence on the web was sabotaged by their own stupidity?

I still get confused by the whole thing when I try to understand the whole convoluted story... I then have to go back to the Cliff Notes and get "centered."

It`s a shame what`s happening in this case.

It effects all Realtors who blog.

I hope the case never goes to court.

Scott he's not a Realtor though... he is a former real estate agent ... fomer Realtor?  probably matters very little whether or not Vlad was a member of NAR...  he is more involved in real estate from the technical side NOW, was involved in promoting ePerks as a way for agents to get leads.   Was he an agent at the time he wrote the paid blogs about ePerks?

The other real estate blogger who is being sued LL (I have a mental block about his name)  in your neck of the woods who is being sued by the developer is probably an easier story to follow and probably more applicable to Realtor bloggers or even real estate bloggers.

ePerks was focusing on selling the leads to agents though...

The other guy was with EWM and from what I heard from an inside source is it was a bit blown out of proportion. But I do not know the real details other than what I read. I read a few of these posts about Vlad and don't know him either. It's a shame that just by saying something about someone in the negative way will always bring on a lawsiut of some sort.

Maureen, a lead generation company suing a real estate blogger because of negative comments sounds like they are reaching and biting the industry hand that feeds them. Makes no sense. Anyone can sue someone over anything these days.

Neal LL w/ EWM... needs a catchy name like Vlad Zablotskyy...  easy to remember, LL's story is probably an easier story for most of us to identfiy with, Vlad's is so convoluted, but it all the real estate industry and using web 2.0 to generate business... or not generate business.

Gary a lot of people are very prone to sueing....
