Help your pet thrive during quarantine
We all love our pets they are a part of our family. They are pet children to a lot of us.
When you’re stuck inside, pets can make the time at home more fun and enjoyable. Here are several tips from pet behaviorists to help you keep your pet happy and engaged:
- Stick to their routine. Feeding, potty, and walks should all happen when they normally do,
- Let them chew it out. For those conference calls or other moments when you need some rest, give your pet a long-chew treat to keep him entertained.
- Exercise. Walks, chase games, etc., are healthy stress relievers for you and your pet. Have planned play sessions at around the same time each day.
- Be considerate. Pets can hear a lot better than we do, so try to keep excessive noise to a minimum.
- Get creative! To keep pets occupied, think outside the box withDIY toys and enrichment. This could be a cardboard tube with kibble hidden inside. This can be fun for your pet—and save your leather shoes!
