Madison Park Condominiums for Sale,

5000 Battery Lane, Bethesda MD 20814

There are so many condos to choose from in the Woodmont Triangle.  The real question is what kind of lifestyle do you want? What amenities matter to you? How big a building or small are you looking for?  Are you comfortable with long hallways, common laundry facilities or big garages?  Do you drive?  Do you prefer to walk to the grocery stores or restaurants? Do you want a pet friendly building? Do you want a building that is pet free?  These things are important to consider as you select a building to focus on.  Perhaps you need a condo matchmaker to help you navigate through the difficulties of making a choice among so many great options!  Call us at 240-401-5577 and we will help you make the right choice!

WHY CHOOSE MADISON PARK?

Stop your search! If you are looking for style and space in Bethesda, just a few blocks from two metro stops (Bethesda and NIH), this is it! The NIH Metro is only .7 miles away!  This is a small and friendly building at 5000 Battery Lane which has a real sense of community.  There are only sixty four Madison Park condominiums in a ten story building at the edge of the Woodmont Triangle, just a short walk to NIH and Walter  Reed. This condo community is close to  all the shops and stores that Bethesda has to offer, particularly in the Woodmont Triangle.

Another wonderful thing about the Madison Park Condominiums is that while the lower levels are surrounded by green space and the nearby park, the upper level condos have a spectacular and unobstructed view of downtown Bethesda.  You can't get views like this anywhere but on Battery Lane! And they are not to be missed! The units on the back of the building have spectacular sunrises from their balconies, which will make you appreciate early mornings!

The Madison Park is pet friendly and there are washers and dryers in each unit. While it doesn't have a front desk, it does have an on site property manager who looks out for the community.

WHAT ARE THE OPTIONS TO MADISON PARK?

If you don't like Madison Park, but you want to be on Battery Lane, then you should consider the City Commons of Bethesda, Sussex House, or Whitehall.  If you are looking for a condo in Bethesda and Chevy Chase with one or more bedrooms under $400,000 just click here.    Whitehall or even City Commons of Bethesda, are more affordable than the Madison Park condos, but the Madison Park condos are more stylish and upscale. Plus, they are pet friendly AND you have a washer and dryer in your unit.  Other options that you should consider include the Christopher and the Chase, right by the Bethesda Metro.  Don't these sound good? Let's talk!

What is Near Madison Park Condominiums?

No car? No problem! This condo complex has a Walkscore of 86. The Subterranean Safeway is just a few blocks down Old Georgetown and the new Harris Teeter is at the end of Battery and Wisconsin Avenue!  Maybe best of all - these condos are an easy walk to NIH and Walter Reed.

You are so close to the Woodmont Triangle shopping area with great restaurants and shops.  There is an iconic restaurant there - the Bethesda Diner that I remember from my childhood, but it has been joined by other great choices like the Woodmont Grill, Jetties for wonderful sandwiches and salads, BGR for great burgers, and House of Milae for Korean food.  The wonderful thing about Woodmont Triangle is that most of the restaurants and shops are independently owned - and there are lots of moderately priced ethnic restaurants.  In a sense, Woodmont Triangle is old Bethesda while the area south of Old Georgetown, with Anthropologie, Lululemon, 5 Guys, the Apple Store, Blue Mercury, and Bonobos is the location for the national stores.

Shopping is easy here with Blue House and Random Harvest for home design, Reddz for repurposed clothing,  Daisy Too Boutique and the Posh Pooch (for Fido or Fifi). There are lots of great reasons for a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood!

The Madison Park Condos are also very close to NIH, Walter Reed and the new Marriot Headquarters!  Lots of convenience at Madiosn Park Condos.

The closest grocery store is the new Harris Teeter at the end of Battery on Wisconsin Avenue.  There is a Trader Joes at Bethesda and Bradley and a Giant on Arlington Road.

Madison Park Condos Are Spacious and Stylish

Built in 1989 the Madison Park Condos were an instant hit.  The smaller units are found  on the first, second and third floors, ranging from 603 square feet to 739 square feet for the 01,02 and 05 tiers.  Once you reach the fourth floor, however, the floorplans change and become much bigger. On the fourth floor and above the units are at least 1077 square feet for a bedroom and den and a full bath and half bath.  If this sounds like the right size for you, look for the twenty units in the 02, 03, 05, 06, and 07 tiers.  The two bedroom two bath units are around 1300 square feet to 1408 square feet.  Finally, there are fourteen three bedroom, 2 and a half bath condos with 1747 square feet of living space!

Sales History at Madison Park Condos

From October 2017 to September 2018, six units sold at the Madison Park Condos.  They ranged in price from $890,000 for the 1747 square foot unit that the developer built for his parents with two bedrooms and two and a half baths to $465,000 for a two bedroom, one and a half bath unit with 1077 square feet.  There is only one unit on the market right now and that is for rent.  Unit 302 which is a one bedroom with 666 square feet was listed for sale but did not sell, so it was rented instead for $1850.  To find more condos in Bethesda like Madison Park, just click here.

From the spring of 2019 to the spring of 2020, only one unit sold at Madison Park, a 1747 square foot property with three bedrooms and two and a half baths.  This condo had a separate living room and dining room, a balcony and two storage/garage spots.

Madison Park Condo Fees

The condo fee includes water and sewer, trash removal and common area maintenance. Parking is easily available with an underground garage. The building also has an exercise room and a party room. In addition, there is a park nearby with public tennis courts.  Smaller pets are allowed, which is wonderful since downtown Bethesda is just a short walk away and there are so many places to walk with your pet!

The condo fee is very reasonable given the stylish feel of the building and it has remained very stable over the last two years.  The condo fee was around $350 in 2016 and $354 in 2018 for a 666 square foot one bedroom while the one bedroom and den (1077 square feet) was approximately $588 in 2016 and $616 in 2018.  The fee for a penthouse condo with 1747 square feet had a condo fee of $1112 in 2015 which went down to $1052 in 2018.  A similar sized unit on the 5th floor had a condo fee of $973 in the spring of 2019.

Why You Want to Live on Battery Lane

Proximity to everything is always one of the best reasons to choose to live at the Madison Park condominiums, but serenity is another major reason.  You are between Old Georgetown Road and Wisconsin Avenue but tucked away in a green space of trees and lawns with a community park nearby. You will love the tennis courts and tot lots there.

If you want to shop, you can walk to the Woodmont Triangle and shop at Blue House or Reddz... just to name a few places.  Restaurants are plentiful with great choices like Woodmont Grill, BGR and Jetties among the many selections.  Lots of home decor shops are located here like Union Hardware and Random Harvest. This is more like Old Bethesda where the shops and restaurants are still individually owned and there are lots of well priced ethnic restaurants.

Children who live at the Madison Park Condominiums attend Bethesda Elementary (home to a great Sunday morning farmers' market), Westland Middle School and Bethesda Chevy Chase High School.  BCC's International Baccalaureate program is a great draw to that high school.   In addition, there are lots of private and parochial schools to choose from, such as the Stone Ridge or Georgetown Prep.   For more information on schools, just click here.

HOW MUCH  IS YOUR BETHESDA CONDO IS WORTH?

There are a number of sites on the internet that will give you 'estimates' for what your home will
sell for. These sites use public records and usually some kind of algorithm to try to produce a value for your home. These sites also publicly state their 'error rates'. That means they aren't correct, they are simply an estimate based on incomplete date. We would love to do a free comparative market analysis of your home or condo in Bethesda and let you know what could expect to get in today's market if you are considering selling. Our valuation is based on up to the day data for homes that have recently sold in the area. Our valuation is not based on a formula that relies on public records which can take months to update. Please visit my website in order to get your free property evaluation for your Bethesda home or condo.
