I received the following email from Verizon this afternoon:

"Please note that Daylight Savings Time is going to take place 3 weeks earlier and end 1 week later this year as a result of the Energy Policy Act that Congress has passed.

Daylight Savings Time will begin on Sunday March 11, 2007 and will end on November 3, 2007.

Although the Verizon Wireless network is ready to seamlessly support the change, you may be required to update your device if you use a BlackBerry®, PDA or Smartphone running Palm® OS or Windows Mobile®."

Cingular in Baton Rouge is already experiencing some type of network issues with the smart phones.  All of the network providers are suggesting visiting their sites and downloading the patch today.  So, if you own on of these devices(like me!) go to the website of your cell provider and download the patch before daylight saving times takes effect.

I was worried about this too but the Treo 650 I have seemed to weather the time change just fine.  I didn't have to do anything, it just changed Time automatically.  Now, my web site is another matter.  Something went nutty and now incomming e-mail comes in 10 days off!  It's amazing how many products rely upon correct time to operate.  Congress should have given the software vendors another year to get everything changed over before making this change.Scott SchmitzOrganizational Real Estate Softwarehttp://www.realorganized.com

I too am experiencing difficulties with my cingular smartphone.  It stopped synching last night around 10.  Not sure what's going on?  I changed the time manually before the time change a couple of weeks ago, so I'm not sure if I need to do something else?

Jim's Treo had no problems with the time change, but for some reason mine didn't do it automatically.  Weird.  We'll see what the fall time change brings.

Scott-  It sounds like you and I dodge the tech bullet.  I didn't experience any of the anticipated problems either.

Ann-  Have you tried resetting it?  I find that usually solves the problem

Maria- Hopefully all the bugs will be worked out before we "fall back"!
