VisiStatVisistat - another one of my favorite things!

In the past, I've blogged about how I use VisiStat to track visitors to my Eastern CT Real Estate Blog.   I love watching the visitors show up on the live statcaster on my desktop.  Sometimes when we are feeling goofy, I'll yell out the name of the town to my assistant.  For instance, I'll yell New Port Richey Florida and she'll yell "GO New Port Richey!!  (We don't drink during the day, honest.)

OK...here's the news.  VisiStat's real-time analytics are now compatible with our Active Rain blogs. I first saw VisiStat at the CyberProfessionals seminar in New Orleans during the National Association of Realtors Convention. Tina Bean, from VisiStat, presented their graphical website tracking environment.  It's really a cool product that gives you visibility into the effectiveness of your blog or websites.

I don't want this to sound like a paid announcement and no, I don't love the product so much that I bought the company.  But I do like it a lot and it has a prominent place in my technology tool kit!   Here's what VisiStat does for me:  Within the context of my blog, VisiStat tells me which entries are most popular, where my blog readers are coming from, including their geographic location. I especially find useful their keyword trending report.  (Talk about the long tail!  - I'm really amazed at what people search to find me!)

Every morning, after I read my email, I head straight to Visistat and check out what's been happening over nite on my blog.  Yes, I'm addicted.

You can find more information and a live demo at their website. Tina can be reached at tina@visistat.com.   Check it out!

GO San Diego, CA!           GO Baton Rouge, LA!        GO Cleveland, OH!

Linda, this sounds like a real good way of tracking activity on a website.  Is the $179.95 the total annual charge or are there other charges involved?

03/10/2007 07:00 PM by George Souto (McCue Mortgage Co.)

That's what I pay George!

P.S.  Atlanta was great.  I think my panel gave birth to a bunch of new baby bloggers.

03/10/2007 07:08 PM by Linda Davis (RE/MAX Realty Group)

That is great Linda.  My trip to Atlanta was also time well spent.  I picked up some valuable ideas and tools that I can use with the new Loan Officer the I hired to help her stay more focused and that will also help her track her activity better.

Linda thanks for the great review on this.  I've been meaning to get more serious about my web presence.  I must check this out.  Thanks!

Maggie - Whenever we meet someday, I plan on giving you a big squeeze.

P.S.  Tina's number is 408-725-9377.   She's really helpful.

oh Linda, that is TOOOOOOOO funny.  You got a hearty laugh from me on that one.  Thanks for Tina's #.  When I get some time next month I will look into this.  Now I better get back to my studying.  Wish it were that easy to tear oneself from AR.

I think you own Dirt Devil though right? :-)  This does sound like a premium service. When I grow up I want to be just like you.

03/10/2007 08:19 PM by Carole Cohen Realtor®, ePRO (Howard Hanna Cleveland City Office)

Thanks for the review, Linda.  I'm definitely going to check this out!  On their site it looks like the price is per website/blog.  I guess since your blog is part of your website, you get two-for-one, huh?

Wow! That offers more than any of the other counters I have been trying out. I have multiple different ones I am using at once so I can see which ones are more accurate and the benefit that each could provide. None of them come close to this. Thank you so much for sharing!

Linda,

I've just recently begun using Visistat and I'm very impressed! Great product that I'd definitely recommend. Nice to see that others agree!

03/11/2007 07:55 PM by Julie Emery (REMAX Regency)

I've been using SiteMeter. It's FREE. It tracks ISP, exit & entry pages, time spent, visitor's location, and several other things. It's fascinating.

There's one particular ISP in San Francisco that keeps visiting. Still trying to figure out who that person is.

Thanks for the great info! I just signed up for their free trial and wow! I'm watching the live visitor feed right now and it's telling me who's on my site, what page they are looking at and where they are from. THIS IS A COOL TOOL -- how did I ever do business before this?!

03/12/2007 12:28 PM by Jim Tucker

Thanks for the resource.  I signed up for the free trial as well.  Not sure I'll continue, the price seems rather high next to Urchin (paid) and Google Analytics (free).

I looked at Visistat after you posted about it. Have you looked at Statcounter.com or Sitemeter? Free or a smal charge for upgrades?  Seem to do the same things.

Linda,

As always, good information. I've been asleep at the wheel of my Blog for some time now, but I see you haven't! I'll have to look into this tool and get back in the game. Thanks for the tip!

Must have new gadget...cant sleep until possess new gadget...

Thanks for the post and the heads up Linda.  With the price, I would be a little leery of spending so much without a good endorsement.  But it sounds like a great tool! I am going to check it out. Cant go wrong with the free trial.

Is it bad to drink during the day?  :)JK.

Thanks again.

That is really annoying. Actually I'm a bit angry about it.  I write about products I use all the time.  Hopefully that is the only time that has ever happened.

03/30/2007 04:41 PM by Linda Davis (RE/MAX Realty Group)

I got a sales person too.  Two of them actually.  I guess I am just REALLY lucky.

I just sent them to voice mail land, not a big deal really.  They didn't call today, so maybe they have reached their voicemail-leaving limit.

I still like the product!  It the best stat counter I have seen.

03/30/2007 05:16 PM by Nancy Ruben, REVA, CRESS (An Assistant On Call)

Thanks Nancy!  I really love the product too but don't like that they called people.  I've written about lots of different products that I use.  In fact, wrote a blog with a ton of stuff and I don't believe anyone followed up on that one.

03/30/2007 05:20 PM by Linda Davis (RE/MAX Realty Group)

Linda, I got a sales call also, the guy was very polite and not pushy.

03/30/2007 05:53 PM by George Souto (McCue Mortgage Co.)

Hi Linda - You have a great website - and the info you have passed on is amazing!  Thank you.  Have you ever used the personal cardscan?  "capture organize and manage your contacts"?

03/31/2007 07:00 AM by Margaret Innis, We Renew New England! Stage, Color, Redesign & Training! (Decorate To Sell, LLC )

Thank you Linda for the review.  I am going to check it out.  Sounds like you and your assistant have alittle fun at work!  That's great, you need some fun now and then.

04/01/2007 11:28 AM by Michelle Cantlin Realtor® , e-Pro, Ridgecrest, CA (Help-U-Sell)

I received notice today from Tina at Visistat that the salesperson who made the calls is no longer with the company.  She apologized for any intrusive behavior.l

04/05/2007 06:22 PM by Linda Davis (RE/MAX Realty Group)

Margaret - thank you for the nice words.  I have never used a personal cardscan.  Let me know if you try it!

04/05/2007 06:24 PM by Linda Davis (RE/MAX Realty Group)

Hi Linda!  I was having a perfectly productive morning until I saw this post.  Now I must drop everything and get the StatCaster.  My webmaster and I have been desgining our next site update and there are all manner of optimizers and statistics gathering tools that we are planning to use that will incorporate that general functionality, but I like this tool gives you real time info on your desktop.  Could be dangerous though, I think I might sit and just stare at it all day!

I am so glad you talked me into signing up for this stuff-I was looking at my stats today and one of my very 'live' prospects read everything i've written on my blog last night.  great reason to contact him today!
