A Funny Moment At Closing

I had a late closing today with an attorney I have never worked with.  We waited in the lobby area for street signthem to do whatever for about 25 mins.  Finally we were called to the back.  The gentleman/attorney motions for us to go into a particular room and he starts his professional brief without hesitation.  He finally got to the last page so congratulations were in order for my client.  She then proceeded to ask him who he was.  He had a flustered look on his face as he introduced himself.  We laughed about him being the "overdressed" janitor that would make the closing null and void.  Would someone eventually burst into the room because they couldn't find him anywhere else in the building to find him sitting with us???  My client and I laughed all the way to our cars.

Very funny!  I love how you made a picture of attorney and janitor!

Thanks for stopping by Cathleen.  I wished I could have found a photo showing someone changing clothes in a phone booth like superman.  I still get tickled when I think about it.  GBU

Latonia, this story is priceless! And it really demonstrates the necessity of introducing yourself before getting down to business, whether in person or in marketing materials. And I betcha this attorney thinks of himself as the utmost "professional." Thanks for sharing this.

That is too funny. Sometimes we are so focused on getting through something we forget something so basic like introducing ourselves. I bet that attorney never does that again.

I hate when attorneys are too "business". They need to have that repoire with clients. They are working off of referrals, just like evryone else. Thanks for sharing.

Kay, I do think he thinks of himself as the utmost professional.  That was my first time dealing with him and I would use him again.  I just thought it was odd the way things happened.

Wendy, I don't think he will let that happen again.  An introduction just makes things seem less formal and more personable.

Laura, Your comment falls in line with my comment to Wendy.  You do want to help them feel comfortable as they sign a 1-inch stack of docs .

Thanks for stopping by to comment.  I pray you all have a blessed day and a prosperous week.
