When I lived in south Florida a couple of years ago, one of the things that I really appreciated was the international flavor that existed there. During the course of any given day, you could easily hear accents from the beautiful Caribbean Islands, see fashionable men and women in the latest Italian attire, and dine on scrumptious Japanese cuisine! Florida was able to draw people from all over the world.

With the tourists, came new residents who opened great restaurants that served the dishes they loved from their countries of origin. They opened clothiers in Naples and South Beach. The beautiful voices making words like Italian suits made of the finest of lightweight wool sound a bit like music to the ears. I must say that I haven't yet encountered the melodic accents from distant lands since moving to Knoxville; remember I have only been here just shy of two months!

What I have found in my search for the really great designs, made of really luxurious fabrics is upscalemenswear.com This is not your dad's clothier. It is, just as the name implies, a provider of upscale menswear. This site features some of the best designers on the scene today, with a few big name celebs lending their names to clothing lines. If you are in the need of a beautiful suit or exquisite pair of Italian shoes that you just can't get in your neck of the woods, I would recommend giving them a try.

It's funny how different areas call for different attire. I'm an attorney who wears suits "too often" for my own pleaure. In Colorado, you're "overdressed" if you show up in a rural courthouse in anything more than cowboy boots and jeans....AND THAT'S FOR THE ATTORNEYS!  Nice post.

Hi Rich, Thanks for the link! One really does get use to the finer things in life. I wonder if they have a sister site for lil ole me! I can shop for my hubby. Are you liking Knoxville? What took you there?

it is always a test for men to fine the mid range business to casual dress should it suite  with tie or not

I'm with Deb...What took you there...Knoxville???

I still dress business suit...the first, second and third time I meet a customer...no matter how hot it is in South Florida...

Appearance counts...where-ever...you are....

Even though you think it doesn't...it does...you might get grief...however, the customer does...appreciate your professionalism...

don't let anyone kid you on that end...

LOL...I am with Deb, come back to Atlanta!  I might start requiring that you attend my closings :-)~

Larry - I too find it interesting, in south Florida it is perfectly acceptable to show up for a meeting in casual slacks and boat shoes or a tailored business suit.

Deb - Not sure if they do have a sister site. I really do like Knoxville. I have family here and there is a lot to enjoy.

Eric - It really is difficult to know but I have always tried to dress professionally for my part regardless of what my client was wearing.

Karen - Home America Mortgage, though we did business here has not had a physical presence in Tennessee, so the team I work on elected to take advantage of the opportunity to remedy that. I too opted for dressing professionally though you are right, in south Florida is can get a bit warm but that is why we have air conditioning!

Pam - Sounds like a consensus here!

Brande - Atlanta is my favorite big city and I have lived there many times in my life, so you never know what the future holds! BTW, I like the new tag line; it reflects the new marketing strategy nicely!

Hey Rich, have you purchased anything from that upscalemenswear.com?What type of service did they give?

06/19/2008 09:48 AM by BLRGUY(Beach & Luxury Realty Inc)

BLR Guy - I did buy a pair of shoes similar to those pictured here from them just over a year ago so that is all I have experience with. They arrived (I was living in ATL) in 24 hours. I was very happy with the product and prompt shipment. I did familiarize myself with their guarantee and return policy before buying. I do know they do not do refunds, only exchanges. If you do try them out, let me know how you like them!

He gardens - and wears Italian suits - yummy! Those shoes - I sold men's dance shoes very like that in my shop. Out here in the west, business is very casual - only lawyers dress this way here.

Thank you for the link. I will tack a look. My husband had some Spanish gins, so he love to dress well. The great part - he loves to buy great clothes for me too. And I am not a big shopper.

Irina - I hope your husband finds something that suits him. At this time though they only have menswear...
