THINKING CREATIVELY IS THE WAY TO SUCCESS

By
Education & Training with Performance Development Strategies

I have been having many creative thoughts this year.  While it has been a year of stress it has also been a year of opportunity.  I have talked about the virtual things that I have been doing and will use this post in Anna Banana Kruchten CRB, CRS AZ Top Banana!  and Carol Williams contest.

I have mention how doing things via Zoom has allowed me to do things I couldn’t do before.  For example, I was able to fulfill all my duties and spend much more time at our house in Florida.

I did my coaching on Zoom, I did classes on Zoom and held meetings on Zoom.

Ok, so now this is old news. What is next?  What creative things will take me to the next level?  Let’s imagine not just re opening but after this is all over.  Great news.  Thinks that I thought would be years from now will be a reality.

Fordham University where I have been teaching the HR Certification course is now doing in person classes.  The classes have been changed.  Every room has a camera and microphone and a monitor that swivels to face the podium or the classroom.  I have had people in class and on Zoom simultaneously.  No one has missed a class because of commitment.  They simply do that Saturday on Zoom and it is being recorded.  I stand in the classroom and engage online and in person at the same time.  What a great positive this has become.

Think of meetings such as board meetings or company meetings.  You don’t have to miss a meeting in many cases. You can log on and “sit” with everyone else at the conference table.

I know that many are Zoomed out now but think of how this ability will help our work life balance in the future.  Possibilities abound!

Grant glad you have embraced and succeeded with Zoom... in my case I am so Zoomed out, but our Corporate people are so into it.... I am back to face to face meetings with sellers... wearing a mask is more acceptable to me, Endre

Hi Grant! What I am loving about ZOOM is that, not only have we been able to keep in touch and actually see people but, the commute time is ZERO! I have been getting SO much more done with these ZOOM meetings than I ever did before. So, I've embraced it and hope it continues - even if combined like yours, with some in-person and others online.

See you on Tuesday!

Grant, great information on how Zoom is working for you. I noticed that I have a lot more information when on Zoom, I can read the chat, and take notes while sitting comfortably at home, attend more Zooms. I still prefer the live meetings, though.

Hi Grant,
I could have sworn I commented on this last week!  I had never done Zoom meetings before but they've certainly created opportunities to get connected and stay connected with people. I'm doing anywhere from 2-4 per week for various groups.  It has not only provided convenience but greater productivity as well.

Congratulations on making the adjustments necessary to keep your business thriving in changing times.

Hi Grant Schneider you've got the zoom game figured out well.  It's such a time saver and I think the folks I know are 100% appreciating sticking with the 'not' so new way of doing business.  Bravo!  Course I had no doubt you'd knock it out of the park ASAP!  Thanks for you very interesting entry into the Challenge!

I agree with several others, I prefer in person meetings, but having the ability to offer clients a choice is another tool in the woodshed. Today, I had a call from a prospective client and I suggested we could meet via Zoom or we could meet in person, it was her choice. She preferred an in person meeting, but simply being able to offer the choice was good.

Zoom has been a true asset in this challenging year, those who have embraced the technology and alternative learning and working environments have prospered, while those who refuse to adapt have had a very difficult year.

I attended 4 online conventions in the month of Sept, a lot of learning that I would not have had time for in a normal year.

So many more clients served with the speed and convenience of online meetings and showings.

Recruiting is accelerated too, with online interviews, presentations, training, and coaching.

Carol - thanks.  I think that we have all learned the new way of meeting.

Anna - thanks.  It certainly will continue to an extent even after everything is over.

Nick - so now we are in the hyrid stage of this and we will be in person but will have this as a backup.

Hannah - I have also enjoyed learning on Tuesdays with all of you.

Bob -  I have two conventions online this month and I have done online recruiting too.

Endre - thank you.  I appreciate it.

This is one of the life changing effects of the pandemic. People will travel
Much less than before to get to client meetings. Interesting that Fordham is having in person classes. University of Chicago business school just shut down for in person classes for two weeks because of a Covid outbreak and the students not behaving responsibly

The need to adapt has caused a lot of growth, and many pain points equally.  Now many businesses are having to catch up to 2020.
