Trulia Pro went live last night. It’s our new hyper‐local self service advertising platform for real estate agents, mortgage brokers, local businesses and service providers. Trulia Pro is a fantastic premium service that allows you to cost effectively promote your brand, your listings and yourself to a targeted and highly localized geographic audience on Trulia.
Trulia Pro has Two Key Components
Unlimited Local Spotlight Ads ‐ This is a 270 x 54 banner ad that will appear in the sidebar on our real estate listing results pages. The ad contains an image of your choosing, a headline, descriptive text and the ability to add a link to the website or blog of your choice. We will only have two of these ads appear per page. Ads will get equally rotated based on the users search criteria. The less people who are in your particular geographic area, the more impressions your ad will get. In fact, there is no limit on impressions.
In addition, you can select up to 20 geographic locations to display your spotlight ad ‐ e.g. by City and State, Zip code and Neighborhood and City. At first, you may want to pick a high level geography like San Francisco, California. This will get you the most impressions at launch. You will be able to see the ad views each geography has within your Trulia dashboard. Then, you can mix and match your geography on the fly to see which campaigns are working best for you. Choice is good.
Local Spotlight ads are a great opportunity for any local business or service provider to market themselves to local home buyers and sellers. Now the local hardware store or Pizza shop can cost effectively create their own virtual billboard on Trulia. Service providers, like home improvement contractors, plumbers, painters and more can build their brand and establish themselves as the local experts.
Unlimited Featured Listings ‐ If you have active listings on Trulia, you will now be able to feature them all. By featuring your listings , they will appear in the top 3 results for relevant searches. This will give you 4‐7 times more views for your clients properties.
So What’s the Cost?
Good question. Trulia Pro is available to interested real estate agents, mortgage brokers, local businesses and service providers for a low fixed fee. It ’s $39 per month or $348 per year which is equivalent to $29 per month. But wait, there’s more. If you purchase one year of Trulia Pro and currently use any other advertising programs anywhere online, just fax or email us a copy of your statement or screen shot of your ad and we’ll give you an additional 3 months free.

Interesting Rudy, thanks for the info! I did that type of advertising on Realtor.com and after 2 months and no leads I cancelled it. What is the rate of lead capture with Trulia Pro to date?
One thing I've noticed about Trulia's listings is that they don't hesitate to leave the option for the person browsing your homes to step away at any moment. They have competitors ads posted at the bottom of the page. They also have blogs posted on the side that redirects the page away from your home. It seems that they just clutter the page so they can legitimize their cost of doing business. They utilize you to help them, where as LocalHomesForSale.com doesn't rely on your (the agent) listings, google adwords, or any other diversionary tactic to improve ourselves. We want to help the agent, period.
At LocalHomesForSale.com every listing is a featured listing. Since May of 2000 we have been using the same method that Trulia has just adopted with directing to the agents web page. Who do you think has more experience with using this format? Why pay 29-39 dollars a month to compete with everyone, when you can pay 20 dollars a month to compete with no one? Which do you think is a better deal? We also feature local businesses with banners and featured advertising. We truly believe in a local search.
