Hello Sheila and Larry - while some buyers may be able to look beyond certain things in a home, they will likely discount(and at a hefty rate) the cost of any improvement.  Your list shows prospective Long Island sellers the things that can help them achieve a top selling price and a quicker time on the market.

You are right about those things, when they are in a home prospective buyers will automatically discount their offer by the amount they believe it will cost them to replace those things.

Larry and Sheila,

Good list, I bristle at DIY and taxidermy.  We actually had a building for lease that was owned by the great white hunter, filled with creatures he had killed.  There were lions, bears, you name it.  He was away for the weekend, and when we came to show it on Monday, his freezer where he kept game meet had died, and the place stunk to high heaven.   I took 3 weeks to get the odor out and all the tropies...  It took a while to lease that building, as well as new floors and new paint...
