Kitch-iti-kipi is one of my favorite places on Earth. It is so beautiful and the mystery that surrounds the area adds ambiance. I can look into the deep clear blue water and imagine all the things the Indians thought way back when.
This is truly the place of legends.
Speaking of legends, you can read the best one on my blog at www.castnetpress.com
Kitch-iti-kipi is not just a spring.
Kitch-iti-kipi is located in Palms Book State Park which comprises over 300 wilderness acres.
Only a short drive to Manistique. Beautiful scenery, restaurants, lodging and many things to do.
There is a gift shop with all the usual, as well as many unusual gifts. Check their website for hours of operation. It is a good place to visit again and again. Children especially like it as they can operate the raft that crosses the spring.
Summer is the best time to visit but Autumn has colored trees unequalled in beauty. Park is open from 8AM until 10PM in summer.
Indian Lake is only a few miles away and offers all kinds of recreational opportunities. The Upper Peninsula is a great place to camp or just to roam for an adventure. Maybe, you should plan a trip to Kitch-iti-kipi?
