The Artisan's Corner
Renaissance Costumes in North Carolina
I've always had a strong interest in period costumes, and have sewed since I was a little girl. I've made a few full Rennaissance dresses myself - though mainly as gifts for friends and family members.

But now I have two small children - and all the parents out there know what happens to free time after becoming a mother! My son is just turned 4, and it's been, hmmmm, just about 4 years since I had enough time to sew anything.
My husband and I recently attended the great Rennaissance Faire that visits Raleigh each year, and he saw me eyeing the costumes - like I do at every Faire! This time he insisted upon purchasing me a wonderful costume for my birthday - you can see it here.
For the first time, I own a Renassiance costume made by someone else, and I have nothing but praise for "The Artisan's Corner"!
I was impressed by all the detailing, and the fabrics used. No zippers on this costume - just traditional ties and buttons.
"The Artisan's Corner" is based near Winston-Salem, not too far from Raleigh, and can be found at a variety of festivals, such as:
NC RENAISSANCE FAIR - RALEIGH, NC
Loch Norman Highland Games - HUNTERSVILLE, NC
Triad Highland Games - HIGH POINT, NC
Bethabara CELTIC FESTIVAL - Winston-Salem, NC
Animazement - Durham, NC
"The Artisan's Corner" is just one more example of the wonderful businesses and products that can be found in North Carolina!
Penny - what a delightful costume ... I sense a kindred spirit as dressmaking and design were my curriculum in high school.
