(By Carl McIntyre)

Café Strip Graphic“OK, we’re here this morning again bright & early,” I said, placing my Codger™ Collectible mug of really good coffee down on our table by the front plate-glass table here in the Cyber-Café,to see what has been learned since yesterday of Jay, Med Boomer & Daisy.”

“Especially Daisy!” interjected Harold.

“I see you got your priorities straight.” Fred said looking up from his morning Pioneer Press, “there’s nothing in the paper again this morning.”

“Sorry,” Harold said, leaning back in his chair, “nothing new at the barbershop yesterday.”

“Where’s Molly?” I asked, “Maybe she got another message.”

Fred said, peering over his paper: “That’s strange, she was here a minute ago.”

Guys!” Molly shouted, a little breathlessly, as she ran up to the table, “I found this tacked to the back door of the café!”

“Or when!” Harold added with a sigh.

 The Return

"That is the last time," Boomer said as the smoke cleared, "I'll let those southern-tier folks influence me!"

"Hey," Medford announced, looking at the Pruett's Pig Powder" thermometer, "according to this, it's +32ºF! That feels pretty good to me!”

“Indeed it does. We’ll not be fooled again by our southern Gentle Readers!” I said, feeling the welcoming warmth of a fine March morning in St. Paul.

“Woof, woof, BOW-WOOOO!!” Daisy added.

Sometime, we might show our Gentle Readers the rest of our cyber-journey photos.

Happily home,

Jay, Medford, Boomer & Daisy

Codgers!  Welcome back.  I'm glad you guys made it home safe and sound (sound?  have you ever been sound?)  I think Carl should keep writing sometimes.  He rocks!  (and speaks Spanish too.)  Gracias por entretenernos tanto Carl.

HA HA HA.  That is too funny.  I'm so naive sometimes.  He sure did have me fooled, though.

Welcome back.

Welcome home friends!  Carl did a fine job in your absence.  I happened to stop by Kristal's post first thing and noticed Jay had commented.  I come rushing over here and you were back.  It's always good to be home!

P.S.  Your stuff is great - you'll need to follow Kristal's advice or before long they will be copying you too!  I keep watching to see  if Daisy shows up on someone's website.

32 degrees. A heatwave!  Are the daffodils coming up yet?

Oh, be sure to post your vacation photos to Localism.  :)

Welcome back from your cross country adventures, Carl did do a very good job in your absence! Having been to both AZ and now living in FL, Florida is way better in my opinion! Just stay near the coast, it's much more ocmfortable, and some of our beaches are doggie friendly!

Linda: Carl did fill in nicely. He protested at first when we came up with this story line. Medford & I would encourage him (in the Real World). Harold too, he spent some time replying to comments. They admit they had a good time, & Carl managed a STAR with his first-ever post!
Chris: The high temp yesterday was near 60º with sun, I was out in shirt-sleeves and quite comfortable. Any cyber-vacation(?) "photos" will appear right here.
Lysa: If went went somewhere comfy, it would have had limited humor-value.

Well now, look who's back!!!  Glad you're back and love to see some of those cyber-journey pics when you get them 'developed'.  Being from Florida, and having lived in Arizona, I agree totally with you about leaving the southern climes to others.  ;-)

Next time you come to Florida, please don't pick a swamp!  PORFAVOR!!!  I am glad you guys are back on your porch where you belong - and thanks for the entertainment!  BTW - I would have been very dissapointed if you picked Arizona over Florida ----<SIGH of relief!>

I loved this series, although I read it in somewhat the way I watch most of TV...in rewind mode.  Welcome back, I trust you spread your special warmth & delight in all the places you visited.  Look forward to reading more about your sojourns in the days ahead perhaps...

Bryant: The Codgers™ enjoyed putting together this little adventure. I now am very confident that Carl could handle the blog were we really to travel. This three-post story was really fun for us.
Ann: We all have a "place" where we really want to be, at least many of us do, and our place is here in historic old Saint Paul, Minnesota. We were having a little fun at the good-natured expense of our (mostly) Florida friends.
Ines: The story-line hinged upon the "influence" of our favorite Floridians expressing their collective dismay at our brutal weather. Having four distinct seasons is worth dealing with the few weeks of extreme weather, in our opinion. It would not have had the impact or humor had we gone somewhere truly habitable & pleasant.
All: I spent some time remaking Daisy's caricature, the little dog deserved a better drawing, so here it is:

Old & New Daisy Caricature

I think that is a bit of an improvement.

Jay - you may have "poofed" from South Beach as well, when you saw the characters and prices - if you guys think you are caricatures, you ain't seen nothing yet!  BTW - Daisy's new look is killer!

Ines: I live in the core city, there are plenty of local colorful characters here--including ourselves--I love the variety and diversity of the city!

Jay that was soom journy, you have to show me how you do the Poofing thing.  With the price of gas these days the Poofing would come in real handy.

George: It appears only to work in the virtual world so far. If we can perfect the process in the real world, and of course patent it, we'll then offer training seminars. For outrageously high prices. At equally expensive hard to get to locales.

Lola: You snuck your comment in there while I was making a reply off-line. I missed it until this morning (Tue). I hate missing the comments of our valued Gentle Readers! The places we were compelled to visit did not need our warmth, there was plenty of warmth already there—coulda used some cool! As far as rewind mode goes—how about “Blog-TiVo?”
Kaye: We have a few of those snakes here as well.
Thank you both for stopping by!
