Zoom Fatigue ~ Catching up in person

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Realty ~ 512.750.6899

Recently two colleagues and I met at Manuel’s close to our office, on the patio, for happy hour! I’m so glad Manuel’s is serving outside (they are inside as well) and they are following all the COVID-19 protocols. It was so good to catch up in person for a face to face connection! Zoom fatigue is real.

People thrive on personal connections. Zoom meetings are a great substitution to keep things moving but nothing is better than direct communication, laughter and camaraderie shared. I'm so thankful to be able to meet with those that share my optimism and enjoy each others company.

The positivity level is raised on so many levels when we spend quality time together. Surrounding yourself with the right people is so important.

Oh Dorie Dillard CRS GRI ABR I so agree! Zooming is fine (for awhile) but there is nothing better then meeting a few friends for a glass of wine on an outside patio and just enjoy each others company!  We are able to do so here in the Phoenix area and happy that we can.  Enjoy your Sunday!

Hi Dorie- we couldn't wait for our temps here to get a little cooler so we could eat outside. Got our friends to meet us at Chuy's and it was the first time for them to get out. Family celebrated Mini-me's birthday outside and distanced.

Hi Dorie... love that quote! I'm so zoomed out, I can't stand it anymore! :) We just had a little cocktail hour last Wednesday for the top 20 agents in gross commission for the third quarter... such a treat to have seen people in person! I can't tell you how excited we all were!

I agree! It's a treat which we value more because we were so accustomed to to spending time with people!

Dorie,

We are so FED-UP with the whole Zoom thing.  This afternoon our grand nephew has a recital, so we will watch as we walk on the beach on our phone...not a zoom but a google one.  He lives in Denver.  A

Hi Dorie,
I haven't gotten Zoom fatique yet because I do those meetings when there is no other option. I'm so glad that option is available.  However, getting together in person is always so much more fun.

We recently met up with friends - and one day enjoyed a fabulous meal on the patio of a local eatery. It felt so joyous to be out and about.  Naturally, we had to don our masks prior to sitting down to eat, and when we left, but who cares? We also appreciated the safety protocols put in place by the restaurant.

Amen! The safety protocols put in place are appreciated and wearing a mask in and out of a restaurant....who cares.

Hi Myrl Jeffcoat ,

Wearing masks, social distancing and meeting outside on patios is definitely the route to go. Our restaurants now are operating at 75%. I know its different all over the country. Staying away from large groups and crowds is definitely on the lists of things to avoid.

Hi Roy Kelley ,

HI Dorie Dillard CRS GRI ABR

Thank you for getting out in the public.

I feel the fabric of our nation is being torn apart by the forced social distancing and mask intimidation going on and I will admit I am not on board with it.

So I stay away from those who live in fear of those of us who do not.

Menard's requires a mask: I have been there twice to buy construction type materials in the last 6 months. Normally would be in there 2-3 times per week.  Go to Ace Hardware instead where masks are not required.

Hy Vee grocery: Although not mandatory...mask shaming is in full bloom and I used to go 2 - 3 times per week and now go once every 8-10 days.  I have been wearing a mask.   Same with our area Sam's Club which mandates but does not enforce.

I stay out of Target and other stores that require the mask.

One observation I have is that people rarely make eye contact anymore or say Hi as you walk down the aisles whether you are wearing a mask or not.  That is not good for our society.

The crazy part of this is the vast majority of people I know that have had the virus wore masks on a regular basis.    I have not had the virus and rarely wear one and am having the best year of my 27 year career.  I truly believe in the human anatomy and the abilities of our immune system.

My next door neighbor had the virus...but his wife, his 90 year old Mother in law who lives with them, and his 4 grandkids who had to stay with them for two weeks never got it. All in the same house and were around him until he went and got tested after he was sick.

Makes no sense....  I need another bottle of wine!!
