Not too long ago, a friend, Blake Wollman called to tell me he had changed careers and was now in the mortgage industry. I wished him all the best, knowing he will do well in this business. His people skills are outstanding, and his past success as an entrepreneur is impressive.
'So what.' You might say!
A nice guy changes careers, and you wish him future success! End of story...wrong!
With my new unique listing, working on the photos and getting the MLS information was a top priority. The lightbulb went off when I decided to have an open house after my radio show and invited him to stop by. He asked what he could do to help. I told you he was a nice guy.

An impromptu one-hour open house was scheduled from 2:30 - 3:30.
I arrived a little after 2 and left around 5:30.
(An hour is longer than it used to be.)
It was raining with chilly temperatures in the forties.
It was one of the largest Open House turnouts in my career. There was a constant line, many with umbrellas.
My way of doing a safe open house...
Note:
Masks required. Limit three adults at a time.
House will be locked between showings.
Blake was able to take names and find out if they were working with a lender or a REALTOR®.
That left me free to spend time concentrating on this unique home's features, answering questions, and not worry about the folks waiting in the cold rain. Each one was thanked for their patience and told that they could make a private appointment.
The pellet stove was welcoming as each guest entered, appreciating the warmth of this Deck House.
Thanks, Blake, for helping at this busy open house!
