On October 22, 2020, NAR.Realtors (NAR) reported that regional existing home sales in the Northeast rose 16.2% in September of 2020 to an annual rate 860,000 homes from August of 2020, and jumped 22.9% from September of 2019. The median price in the Northeast was $354,600 in September 2020, higher 17.8% from September of 2019.
Home sales in the Midwest gained 7.1% in September of 2020 to an annual rate 1,510,000 million homes from August of 2020, and grew 19.8% from September of 2019. The median price in the Midwest was $243,100 in September of 2020, soar 14.8% from September of 2019.
Home sales in the South up 8.5% in September of 2020 to an annual rate 2.80 million homes from August of 2020, and increased 22.3% from September of 2019. The median price in the South was $266,900 in September of 2020, grew 13.0% from September of 2019.
Home sales in the West higher 9.6% in September of 2020 to an annual rate 1,370,000 homes from August of 2020, and rose 18.1% from September of 2019. The median price in the West was $470,800 in September of 2020, jumped 17.1% from September of 2019, according to NAR on October 22, 2020.
Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist stated "To their credit, we have seen some homebuilders move to ramp up supply, but a need for even more production still exists."
