Brokers Caravan, what an opportunity!

By
Real Estate Agent with eXp Realty

I have participated in Open houses, Broker's opens and Office tours but today was different. Today I particpated in a Caravan of agents from various offices to view listings that have a relative close proximity to each other.

We all met at the first home with flyers from everyones listing prepared by the main co-ordinator. As we walked through the home we could make notes on the flyer as to price opinion, ideas for helping sale, etc. Then the co-ordinator would assemble these notes and give to respective agent at a later time.

I am the observant type and love to just listen to what everyone has to say and boy was it interesting. This is a great way to get to know your fellow agents in the business. It is also a great way to view a number of homes in a short period of time. Thankfully no-one hid my shoes this time:)

I am already thinking about the listings I viewed today and which of my clients may like to take a look.. so next time your asked to participate graciously do so, for your seller, your buyer and for you!

This a great way to get a lot of feedback about the home you are trying to sell.  I try to do a broker preview within the first week of a new listing.

I think that's a great idea.  It's a great way to show your clients what other realtors think about their price, etc.  They can also make suggestions to change things...  :)

Many don't like these, but as an outsider to Realtors, it always seemed like it would provide more benefit and knowledge, even to the experienced Realtors.  Knowledge is power, and it would seem that these would be a great source of information and knowledge.  IMO

Duane and Ronald- This also gives you an idea what other agents hot buttons are. While some it's updating, others outside appearance and what I really enjoyed was the way each agent sold us on their listing. Knowledge is a good thing:)

I'm working on organizing one similar to this instead of just my brokerage. Glad to hear it was a good experience for you with lots of great feedback.

You mean you don't have Broker Preview already?  It saves so much time.  Glad to hear someone started it.  I can go on a broker preview everyday of the week here.

The area I specialize in is on Thursday from 11-2.  The surrounding areas are different days of the week.  Our MLS has a special area where we add our new or re-freshed listings to the preview.  Very simple, like an open house tour.

Before the MLS did this for us, an office organized it for every broker.  It would also be a great idea for a Title Company or lender if they wanted to prospect and meet the agents from various brokerages.  Just an idea....

This is a great way to view new listings and many areas have such a caravan.  I just wonder, as gas prices continue to rise, how much longer they will be well attended.
