I Thought Of Cybill Shepherd. . .

I Thought Of Cybill Shepherd. . .

As I was walking on a street that was known-to-me but not one overly familiar, I experienced a special moment.  Lost In Space.  Kinda.  Well, it wasn't just a science fiction show of the 1960s but a momentary visit to a far off pondering spot.

Sure, I try to remain focused.  Well, most of the time, but this was an odd moment.  Indeed.   Maybe it was sun in my eyes. I don't know exactly what it was but something caused me to look at a building and see the name Cybill Shepherd

I don't think of the actress often if ever.  I am familiar with her work on television and movies so what did I actually see?  It was a chapel or a nursing facility...the name looked like Something To Do With The Good Shepherd.   But I saw Cybill's name.  Not in the bright lights one might imagine her while performing but through a quick glance at stained glass.

I guess it could happen to anybody but it happened to me.  Time to turn the corner and see what awaits...

Hello Michael Jacobs  - that happens to me from time to time. My brain/mind processes something I may see/read on a truck or somewhere else, and I say to myself ... Self, that does not make any sense.  I look at it again and then see what it really reads ... sometimes I laugh ... and other times I just ponder what just happened.

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS - I guess I was "lucky" this time.  Unfortunately, I don't have the opportunity to "choose" most of the time.

James Dray - some occasions are historic.  Others hysterical.  History often reveals the difference.  Well, sometimes.

Grant Schneider - such things can happen without a full or blue moon too.

Brian England - I am not good at recognizing people I see that I should instantly recognize.

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 - I don't know what prompted thinking about her?

Ron and Alexandra Seigel - that's a nice memory.  A very different time and with a unique set of people.

Nina Hollander - exactly.

Will Hamm - I seem to "miss" more people than recognizing them.  In real life and while wondering.

Kathleen Daniels, Probate & Trust Specialist - it's "nice" or at least somewhat comforting to know that other people experience similar things.

Of course, I had a bit of flashback to an Ask The Ambassador post I had just read about wonkiness while participating in ActiveRain.  I tried to post this comment multiple times by tagging five members and kept receiving an error message.  It was a bit frustrating but. . .   There are many alternatives including stepping away and doing something else.  So, I did an experiment and hopefully this comment will post.  And if it doesn't, that's okay too.  Thanks for the reminder, Bill Liz and Bill Spear

Michael, it has been years since I have heard Cybill's name, and it is interesting when thoughts pop into our minds!

I don't think I have ever had that happen but life brings unexpected changes so who knows what might happen.  You mentioned the error message. I had that all day yesterday and couldn't get a comment to register.  So I am thankful it is working today.

Michael Jacobs - Our brains are a mystery. There are a lot of times I pass a sign and read something else and that's because I have one eye that is near sighted and the other far sighted and I have astigmatism and flat corneas from wearing hard contact lenses for 40+ years. Here's something I found out that I'd like you to read out loud quickly:

Aoccdring to a rscheearch sudty at Cmabridge Uineverstisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are: the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltter be in the rghit pclae.

You might want to read up on James Cattell, the founder of psycholinguists to learn more. I hope it helps!

Interesting event Michael. I was sitting in a hair salon in Glenwood Springs, Colorado and Cybil Shepherd put her hands around her face and looked into the window. She was quite beautiful in person!

Not that my comment had anything to do with your experience but it did pull forward that memory of a loooong time ago when she was starring in Moonlighting with Bruce Willis!

Hi Michael,
When I think of Cybill Shepard, I think of the show Moonlighting and how that was Bruce Willis' big break.  Who would have thought?

Carol Williams - I remember that show. The chemistry between the two stars and the writing certainly combined to create classic television in my opinion.

Like Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty and Carol Williams, Moonlighting came to mind when I read the title of your post!

I have been led down the rabbit hole many times, seeing something that reminds me of something in my past. I think if we never had these moments, we would certainly worry!

Debe Maxwell, CRS - a rabbit hole can lead to some fun times.  I agree such occurences are a part of our memories and they should be appreciated.
