Ben Franklin Told Me This. Seriously .

"It is extremely valuable to share in your posts,  both what has worked and yes, what hasn't worked out as you had hoped. Also, explain in your post (s) what you plan to do from here on out to finish up 2020 in the best possible way for you and those around you. Tell us how this past 3 months has challenged you to dig deeper, start over, move forward and stay focused on the positive in every situation you've encountered."

What Has Worked?

Me in one word.  I have refused to let the media rule my life.  I have refused to let world and national situations to influence the way I live.  I will not stay in my basement for fear that something or someone will harm me.  I wake up each and every day and remind myself that I have been given great opportunities and need to continue working hard to improve my friends lives, my community and my nation.

What Has Not Worked?

I  hate to surprise anyone who has read to this point.  Rome was  not built in a day.  So, I am not sure I can answer this part of the question yet.  If you wanted to lose weight, it would not happen overnight.  If you wanted to run a marathon, you could not just hit the pavement and expect to see a world class performance.  There are numerous other examples of how change must be slow and deliberate.  Lots of folks expect instant success in any endeavor.  It does not happen that way.  Why do lots of folks enter our profession?  They think it is easy.  Why is the failure rate so high?  It is a much more demanding career than most folks think.

Continuing thru the year, I plan on trying to be the best professional that I can be.  i will wake up each morning and thank my luck stars to have been born in the greatest nation on this planet.  I will try to improve my self both personally and professionally so that I can provide the best services to my friends and clients.

I hope and know that this is a shared sentiment from my friends here on Active Rain because I am sure that we all are trying to improve each and every day.

Hi Peter Mohylsky. Beach Expert thanks for your entry!  Very wide words indeed. And I agree....things don't happen over night.  It's a process we all keep working on.  Love this....

I wake up each and every day and remind myself that I have been given great opportunities and need to continue working hard to improve my friends lives, my community and my nation.

Hi Peter,
Many of the results of our efforts this year won't be revealed immediately. But, daily actions do gain traction over time for a great long term return on the investment.

Hello Peter - it's a good reminder to realize that Rome was not built in a day.  Nor did Ben Franklin always have such wise words but those we "remember" are more than enough to fill a book.

Hi Peter;

There's lots of wisdom in this post. Change, or adapting to it, often takes time and doesn't happen overnight. Self-improvement is an on-going process, or should be!
