On being a resource, not just a Realtor

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

We like to let our clients know that they can count on us for all kinds of things besides the sale of real estate.

For example, if they need a good roofer, we know one or two who we trust, and we're happy to make those referrals. If they have a question about mortgages or credit, I'm not an expert but I can steer them to someone who is.

Anyone who has ever gone blindly to the Yellow Pages and been burned knows that the biggest advertisement is not always the business with the highest integrity (sometimes I wonder if the inverse is true!).

This practie helps us to cement relationships with our clients, but also with our vendors, who treat us well and respond quickly to our service requests.

And besides that, it just plain feels good to steer someone to a good deal. Who doesn't enjoy being of service and helping someone else out?

I have a prefered vendor list.  I love that I am a go to person when they want a referral.  It is one of the things that keeps us in touch over time.

Cynthia and Preston, I think have a good list of service providers and other types of local places ius one of the best lists you can have. Residents new to town are looking for so much more than a home, they are looking for a place to begin their life. Being a valuable resource about more than homes is what we need to do.
