''Important Miscellaneous Information

Furnace filters:
- Change every 3-4 months, using No. 4 filters (Home Depot).
- The receptacle is located on the wall adjacent to the furnace closet across from the thermostat.
- Date of last replacement on the door frame.

The heater in utility closet – porch; on the back wall near floor:
- In November – turn up to midpoint (to prevent pipes from freezing).
- In April – turn off completely to save energy.

Water purifier for refrigerator:
- Receptacle about the upper shelf in the refrigerator on the right side.
- Look for a message on the door panel for time to order, then replace it (date of last replacement on receptacle).
- Obtain from Amazon.

Smoke detectors
- Located in bedrooms and living room.
- Will beep when they need a new 9-volt battery.
- If concerned about climbing on a ladder to replace them, the fire department will do so free of charge (I did leave my tall ladder in the pantry for you!).

Floorcare
- Bathroom floor - clean with mild vinegar and water solution (use a green spray bottle in cabinet). No need to rinse off.
- Wood floor – clean with Bona and appropriate applicator (no need to rinse or shine; avoid water and soap).

Windows
- Several of them have foam insulation strips in the tracks to reduce air leakage in winter.
- Extra foam roll in pantry.
- Check front windows for complete closure if there is a heavy rainstorm from that side of the building.

Neighbor information
- Neighbor 1- He is handy and helpful!
- Neighbor 2-- Condo Board for the group of the first buildings.
- You will very rarely see or hear anyone on this floor!
- When you receive the electronic link to the condo website, you will obtain their current contact information.

Stairways
- The stairs next to my unit are convenient for entering and exiting the building or garage; however, 59 steps!
- If you exit the door to the street from the stairway, the door will automatically lock. Take your key or re-enter through the garage or front door.

Recycling center
- Between the wooden enclosure.
- Only paper, bottles, and metal (per country regulations).
- Pick-up on alternate days with trash (Tues/Fri).

Trash/garbage
- Suggest using plastic bags with secure closure.
- The room is located in the back hallway.
- Pick-up on usually Fridays.

Hall & stairwell maintenance – weekly
- Watch-out for workmen in the stairwell, particularly on “landing” outside of (workers in the attic); usually, no warning signs; therefore, open door with caution!
- Mail delivery – usually late afternoon; postman is very nice (will take packages that go back to post office)

General package delivery
- Items usually placed on the table in the lobby or the nearby floor, unless you specify delivery to your door (Amazon is great with this; UPS sometimes)
- Walgreens accepts Fed Ex packages
- 2 curbside boxes on parking strip near the building and take small and flat packages only

Codes you will need
- Lower gate
- Sync your transponder to your car
- For building entrance code, you will need to reset the current one through Residential Realty
- For garage code, reset that as well (but not sure how)
