We are now firmly in the holiday season. Thanksgiving takes place in just 10 days. In 24 days (December 10th), Hanukkah starts. Then, just 38 shopping days until Christmas. Finally, we get to say "goodbye" to 2020 in 45 days from today. Yay! This global pandemic hit so many people hard. Ventura County Spark of Love Holiday Toy Drive 2020
The season of giving feels even more meaningful this year. Local fire departments teamed up with ABC 7 and Toys for Tots to bring toys to struggling families in Ventura County for the holidays. But they need your help to make this happen. If you'd like to assist them in their efforts, please feel free to drop off a new, unwrapped toy, book, gift card, and/or sports equipment to either Ventura City Fire Headquarters (1412 Dowell Dr) or drop them in a designated bin at any one of more than 45 locations around Ventura County. This year, none of our Ventura fire stations accept donations due to COVID concerns.
How to Give
As we stated above, the first way to donate is to drop off your gift in a bin at a participating Ventura County location. Or visit the Ventura County Firefighters website here to make a tax-deductible donation online. This Saturday (November 22nd), grab the family and head to Peirano's (204 E Main St) between 5 pm and 8 pm for a tasty spaghetti dinner. A portion of the proceeds (10%) goes to Toys for Tots. Seats fill up pretty quickly. Reservations are recommended. Call Peirano's at (805) 628-9028 or email them to make your reservation today. Finally, if you own a business, you can request a donation bin to set up in your business. Simply contact Crystal Stratton to make a request.
