In a recent NBC news report, the Light Rail system in Denver, was referred to as the “Poster Child” for our Mass Transit system.

With the high cost of fuel, living near mass transit makes environmental and financial sense!  There are many great communities, and neighborhoods within walking distance to Denver’s light rail system.  The value of these properties will certainly go up as the cost to drive to work increases.  Click here to visit the Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD) site.

If you currently utilize Light Rail, or other Mass Transit, we’d love to have you comment about your experience!

4 Comments on Denver "Poster Child" for Mass Transit!

I'm not surprised by this news, Bob. I went to college in Boulder and took the bus to campus everyday and also around town and whatnot. RTD is very reliable and convenient. I also took the Light Rail a few times -- going to Denver, Rockies games, conferences, etc. I live in Colorado Springs now but still use the system when needed if I am headed north.

It's nice to know Denver is getting positive attention, particularly after all the work that has been done to make the RTD Lightrail a reality!  I wish they could work faster, we need more rail now...

Bob

In AZ we are hoping for a light rail system to give a bit of stimulus to our market.  With the large geographical are that Phoenix encompasses I believe it may bring a well needed boost to some of the sorrounding cities that have been hurt by gas prices as well as poor infrastucture.

by the way, Do you have an outside blog that I can add to my Blogroll ?

Thanks and look forward to reading your thoughts on the world of real estate.

I've been selling homes since 1990. I've managed a large, national franchised office, and am currently Broker/Owner of a 5 agent company in Denver. My firm is affiliated with Metro Brokers, Inc. We are a large group (almost 2000 agents) that share overhead, and resources. It allows us to run our business' nimbly, yet have the benefits of name recognition, etc. of the large franchises.
