Gas Savers or Gimmics ??? What's Working For You ??

Simply that....out of all the email gimmics and things to try, what's working???  From fuel additives, not letting your tank get below half, pumping slow, to simply driving below the maximum speed limit.  Like doing 60 mph in a 70 mph zone....

What is proving itself for you???  For those of you paying Sams Club $40.00 membership fees to simply save an extra .06-.08 cents a gallon, you basically only save maybe $20.00 a year depending on how far you drive out of the way just to fill up at a Walmart or Sams...not worth it to me...

I ride my motorcycle as much as I can for daily chores that I don't need a big vehicle.  There are lots of great sites on the web about how you can reduce your fuel consumption.  The basics are to drive cautiosly - no rapid starts or stops.  Break longer so that you are still moving a little bit when the light turns green.  It takes less energy to keep an object moving than it does to start it from a dead stop.  Keep your windows up.  I've also heard, but have never had it confirmed, that the new ethanol additive in almost all the fuel at the stations actually lowers your MPG.  I'm not sure.  Good luck!

I'm not sure there is a simple answer to this. You spend money on the addatives too... do they really save $$$

Wayne,  Fuel cost suck!   There is no better way to describe it.  I wish I had a reliable electric car and didn't hat to depend on oil as much.
