"In German folklore, where Nutcrackers originated, the Nutcracker will bring good luck to your home and protect your family."
I've written about my nutcracker collection in the past but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to include them in my 2020 30 Days of Thanksgiving posts. They bring much cheer to my home and a smile to my face whenever I walk into my kitchen, where they are displayed.
According to the MagicOfNutcrackers website:
"Legend says that a Nutcracker represents power and strength and serves like a trusty watch dog guarding your family from evil spirits and danger. A fierce protector, the nutcracker bares its teeth to the evil spirits and serves as the traditional messenger of good luck and goodwill."
If all that is true, my home is well protected. A couple of days ago I posted a picture of part of my nutcracker collection James Dray said he wanted to see the rest of them. Although this isn't quite ALL of them, this is the music box portion of my collection. They stand in my kitchen window, offering up music on demand.
