MY PERSONAL GRATITUDE JOURNAL For 11/26/2020

In 1997 while in Palm Springs with my friend Jerry Humphrey for a weeklong real estate seminar, I left the hotel room to go get our fruit for the week at the grocery store.

Later, Jerry told me the staff at the Marriott told him, I just missed a Cadillac by six inches in the parking lot and a tree by one foot. NOT KNOWING while out with my sixth seizure I drove across the fairway of one of the golf courses and fortunately, there were oleanders 10 feet tall (which kept me from driving into the lake on the golf course) and I turned and drove over about 15 feet of them.

The next your when we went to the seminar, I went to see the damage I caused. Those oleanders in that location were about two feet shorter than the rest of them around the lake.

When I awoke, I explained to the two men, I must go Jerry and have a tee time at 8:00 a.m. They set me up (I was in the emergency squad and they said you are going to Dwight D. Eisenhower hospital. There was no damage to my Mercedes or myself. This may be the most gratifying event of my life. Although I was OUT like a LIGHT and knew nothing about it happening.

To my understanding, seizures can be terrifying to the person watching, but to the person who is having one, they know nothing about it.

Why don’t you stop! Today and think about your past and be grateful for the events you have had in your life, and recognize you are fortunate to still be here.

Happy Thanksgiving
