"Family isn't always blood."
Today I am joining in on the love by sharing at least 5 reasons I am thankful for ActiveRain. Like many others have said in their posts, this is an easy one. I joined way back in 2006 when AR was just a baby. Unfortunately, I had a lot going on back then professionally and personally and had to take a long hiatus after the first couple of years. I re-entered the scenes in earnest in 2014.
The 1st thing I'm thankful for is that my original blog and all the previous posts were still here when I came back, so I didn't have to start over! I only had 80,000 points at that time but, hey, I didn't have to start from scratch.
My focus when I came back was different than most members here. I had been retired for 3 years at that point and had no interest in drumming up business for myself. What I did have was 30 years of experience and thought perhaps it would be beneficial to share some of the things that I learned over the years. ActiveRain gave me a platform to do that.
The 2nd thing I am thankful for is a platform to share my experience with other real estate professionals. It gives me a way to keep my fingers in the pie without actually being an active agent. I enjoy knowing I still have a purpose.
The 3rd thing I am thankful for is that I still love to learn new things. ActiveRain has a brain trust of people in every aspect of the real estate business who are sharing their vast knowledge every single day.
The 4th thing I am thankful for is we can earn our way to Free Status. I like that we are rewarded for being contributors to the platform.
The 5th thing I am thankful for is the family atmosphere that has been created here by the membership. When the platform went wonky early in the year, the troops rallied and started weekly Zoom meetings to keep us connected to each other and keep sharing and learning. I kind of feel like we've created our own little brother and sisterhood here.
I'm always anxious to meet ActiveRain members during my travels. I've met several who have become very good friends and I have plans to meet many more in the future. I love knowing no matter where I go there is most likely a member to meet.
"Family, like branches on a tree, we all grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one." And, we are rooted together in ActiveRain.
